Currently, enterprises in industrial parks (IPs) and industrial clusters (ICs) in the province are attracting and creating jobs for more than 42,000 workers. During rush hour, traffic volume in these areas is very high, causing congestion and potential safety risks. In this situation, the provincial authorities and local authorities have stepped up propaganda on traffic safety laws to raise awareness of law compliance among workers in IPs and ICs.
Workers at Thuy Van Industrial Park are instructed and practiced safe driving skills by employees of Binh Minh Company Limited to ensure traffic safety.
In order to raise traffic awareness for workers working at Thuy Van Industrial Park, recently, the Provincial Labor Federation coordinated with Binh Minh Company Limited to organize a festival to propagate and disseminate traffic safety laws for over 500 workers. At the program, union members and workers were imparted basic knowledge about the Road Traffic Law, contents related to ensuring traffic safety; disseminated some rules when participating in traffic; analyzed and warned about some common traffic violations, potential risks of accidents when participating in traffic, especially the dangers of speeding, using phones while participating in traffic, carrying more people than prescribed, not wearing helmets, not driving in the correct lane, etc.
Along with that, union members and employees were also instructed on safe vehicle control skills; participated in exchanges and direct questions and answers on issues related to road traffic safety to equip themselves with more knowledge about traffic safety and order, improve skills and traffic culture, strictly comply with the provisions of the law when participating in traffic to limit accidents and risks, ensure the safety of life and property for workers and employees. In particular, on this occasion, Binh Minh Company Limited changed motorbike oil for free for 200 employees and gave many meaningful gifts.
Thuy Van Industrial Park is creating jobs for tens of thousands of workers inside and outside the province, of which the number of workers commuting to and from work every day accounts for nearly 70%. That contributes to increasing the number of people and vehicles participating in traffic, causing great pressure on ensuring traffic safety.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Hoa, a worker at Captex Vina Company, Thuy Van Industrial Park, said: “During rush hours from 7:00 to 7:45 and from 17:00 to 18:00, workers go to work, get off work, and vehicles carrying goods for production of enterprises run through the industrial park roads very crowded. I have witnessed many dangerous traffic situations and there have been collisions between vehicles. By participating in this propaganda session, the Company's employees will be exemplary propagandists, taking the lead in implementing the provisions of the law on traffic safety.”
Along with propaganda work, in recent times, with the strengthening of coordination in propaganda work, the Traffic Police Department, the Provincial Police, the Police of districts, cities and towns have organized patrols, controls and handled traffic violations on key routes in industrial parks and industrial clusters; directly regulated traffic at "black spots" with potential risks of traffic accidents during rush hours and late at night. Through patrols and controls, it is shown that the situation of workers violating traffic safety still occurs. The basic violations are not wearing helmets when participating in traffic, not obeying traffic lights, driving without rearview mirrors... In addition, on some routes in and near industrial parks and industrial clusters, there are situations of street vendors and roadside stalls, every time the shift ends, the sellers and buyers are crowded, encroaching on the roadside, which is a potential cause of traffic safety loss.
To ensure traffic safety and reduce traffic accidents (TNGT) on all 3 criteria, especially in localities with industrial parks and industrial clusters, in the coming time, the Provincial Federation of Labor will coordinate with the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee to promote propaganda activities, raise awareness of compliance with traffic safety laws for employees of companies and enterprises; the Traffic Police force will increase patrols, control, and directly regulate traffic at potential traffic accident-prone areas with large crowds of people and vehicles during rush hours, and strictly handle violations of the Road Traffic Law.
The Department of Transport directs road management units to review, replace, and install road signaling systems in accordance with national standards and improve traffic conditions at intersections in industrial parks and industrial clusters, prioritizing the installation of warning signs, adding painted lines, speed bumps, etc. to contribute to building safe roads and attracting investment in industrial parks and industrial clusters in the province.
