On the morning of October 14, the Economic - Budget Committee of the Provincial People's Council organized a survey on the implementation of a number of projects on applying comprehensive technical solutions to prevent and control major pests and diseases on dragon fruit trees and the project on building a model for producing medicinal plants such as honeysuckle in the direction of GACP-WHO in Chi Linh area.
This content is implemented according to the thematic monitoring plan of the Economic - Budget Committee of the Provincial People's Council on the results of research and application of scientific and technological topics and projects using state funds in Hai Duong province.

The topic of Application of comprehensive technical solutions to prevent and control major pests and diseases on dragon fruit trees was implemented by the People's Committee of Chi Linh City . The objective of the topic is to apply solutions and perfect the technical process of preventing and controlling major pests and diseases on dragon fruit trees, effectively limiting pests and diseases, and increasing productivity for dragon fruit trees.
The project has built 2 models with a total area of 2 hectares applying technical solutions to prevent major pests and diseases on dragon fruit trees in Hoang Hoa Tham commune and Ben Tam ward. Technical measures applied include using fertilizers and chemicals appropriately, using bait traps to prevent flies that harm dragon fruit, using some biological products and chemicals to prevent brown spot disease and anthracnose disease that harm dragon fruit.
In Chi Linh city, dragon fruit trees are planted in 19 communes and wards with an area of 186 hectares. Communes and wards with large planting areas include: Ben Tam, Hoang Hoa Tham, Co Thanh, Chi Minh, Le Loi, Van Duc... In which, the largest planting areas are in Ben Tam, Co Thanh and Hoang Hoa Tham wards.
The project on building a model for producing medicinal plants such as honeysuckle in accordance with GACP-WHO in Hai Duong province is carried out by the Hanoi Center for Research on Cultivation and Processing of Medicinal Plants. After 2 years of implementing the project (from 2021-2022), the project has implemented scientific research methods to complete the objectives and contents compared to the signed contract.
The Center has identified the species and evaluated the medicinal quality of 5 honeysuckle samples grown in Chi Linh City. Successfully built a model for propagating and producing honeysuckle medicinal plants according to GACP-WHO in Hai Duong. Completed the process of propagating, planting, caring, harvesting and processing honeysuckle medicinal plants according to GACP-WHO suitable for the conditions of Hai Duong province; linked to the consumption of honeysuckle medicinal products of the project.
Honeysuckle in Hai Duong grows and develops well in the season from January to September every year; the yield of dried honeysuckle flowers is on average 0.8 tons/ha, the yield of dried honeysuckle stalks is on average over 7.5 tons/ha. The economic efficiency of the model ranges from 100 - 202 million VND/ha/year.
Some households growing dragon fruit and honeysuckle medicinal plants have proposed that the province have policies to support and encourage development to expand the production areas of dragon fruit and honeysuckle medicinal plants to create commodity products and be competitive in the market, contributing to job creation and increasing income for producers. Develop a plan for concentrated production areas, associated with brand building and trade promotion for products. Support dragon fruit and honeysuckle producers, ensuring the supply of good seeds and product output.
