Teacher disciplined for tutoring first graders at home

TPO - A female primary school teacher in Ha Tinh has just been disciplined for organizing extra tutoring at home for first graders.

On January 4, the leader of Tran Phu Primary School (Ha Tinh city) said that the school had just issued a decision to discipline teacher Nguyen Thi T. (homeroom teacher of class 1B) with a party and civil servant reprimand for organizing extra tutoring at home for students.

According to the school leaders, Ms. T.'s organization of extra classes at home was against the regulations. The school board held a meeting and decided to discipline her with a reprimand.

The act of organizing illegal tutoring for first graders was discovered at around 7:00 p.m. on December 4 at Ms. T's private home in Tran Phu ward (Ha Tinh city).

After recording the incident, on the morning of December 5, the Department of Education and Training of Ha Tinh City invited the female teacher and the principal of Tran Phu Primary School to discuss and gather information. Through discussion, Ms. Nguyen Thi T. admitted to illegally teaching extra classes at home and made a report to the Department of Education and Training of the city.

According to the report of the Department of Education and Training of Ha Tinh city, Ms. Nguyen Thi T.'s behavior violated the regulations on cases that are not allowed to teach extra classes according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

In addition to requesting Tran Phu Primary School to establish a disciplinary council, organize a review, and take disciplinary action against violating officials according to regulations, the Department of Education and Training also requested to review the responsibilities of the head and related individuals.

Along with that, the Department of Education and Training also requested the People's Committee of Ha Tinh city to transfer the violating teacher to another area.
