Speed ​​up construction progress of hospital projects

These days, at the Bat Xat District General Hospital project, the contractor is focusing on constructing a number of items belonging to construction packages No. 4 and No. 5. The project has a total investment of 230 billion VND, starting in 2021, the construction investment scale includes buildings from 4 to 7 floors, administrative management blocks and examination and treatment departments, with a total floor area of ​​13,000 m2.

According to the project progress report, the value of the implementation volume of package No. 4 reached about 72%, package No. 5 reached about 92%. In particular, for package No. 4, currently, the main items such as the technical and medical examination building, the administrative building and the medical center, the yard between the two buildings have been basically completed. For package No. 5, the final items such as: inpatient treatment building, infectious disease building, nutrition building, pump house, fire water tank, generator house have been constructed.

According to the leader of the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, in the coming time, the board will continue to urge contractors to construct the remaining items, and at the same time proceed with equipment installation. Currently, the investor is approving the design of construction drawings and estimates. It is expected that by the end of April 2025, the contractor will be selected and the contract signed, speeding up the construction progress and supplying and installing equipment; striving to put the hospital into operation by the end of June 2025.

At the Van Ban District General Hospital project, the contractor is focusing on installing electrical and air conditioning equipment. Package No. 10 with the largest value includes construction items of blocks of buildings that have completed more than 90% of the volume. The investor actively urged the contractor to maximize human resources, materials, and equipment, speed up the construction of items: security guard house, main gate; asphalt paving in the main gate area, side gate; energizing, testing indoor and outdoor equipment systems to ensure the project is completed in accordance with the contract signed with the investor. The contractor has also concentrated equipment at the construction site, ready to install fire prevention and fighting equipment in the blocks of buildings; install air conditioning system equipment; wastewater treatment system, incinerator and exhaust gas treatment; gas supply house and wastewater treatment house...

Mr. Nguyen Bao Quan, in charge of field engineering, Quang Sang Construction Investment Company Limited said: Currently, the unit is focusing on completing the exterior items of Van Ban District General Hospital, ensuring that it will be handed over to the investor by the end of June 2025.

In addition to the two hospitals mentioned above, there are a number of other projects, such as: the Provincial General Hospital project phase 2 (inaugurated on February 27, 2025, currently some equipment installation items are still being completed); Bao Thang District General Hospital upgrade investment project (phase 2); Simacai District Medical Center construction investment project; Bac Ha District General Hospital project; Bao Yen District General Hospital project. These are all important projects, directly contributing to improving the quality of the province's comprehensive health system.

Despite receiving close attention from the Provincial People's Committee, some projects still face difficulties in the implementation process. In addition to objective reasons such as complex terrain conditions and unfavorable weather, some subjective reasons also affect the progress, especially site clearance and the capacity of some construction contractors. To complete the projects on schedule, the investor actively coordinates with local authorities to remove difficulties in site clearance, researches and advises the Provincial People's Committee to flexibly apply relevant legal regulations, and at the same time requires contractors to focus on human resources to speed up the progress.

Medical units are also actively preparing human resources and providing professional training for medical staff to prepare conditions to operate the new hospital.

Doctor Pham Nhat Tuan, Director of Van Ban District General Hospital said: We have sent staff to participate in training at a number of provincial and central hospitals, ready to operate newly invested equipment.

The newly completed hospital will facilitate the reception and transfer of new and modern techniques from higher levels, thereby better meeting the needs of care, examination and treatment for ethnic minorities in the district.

Mr. Hoang Quoc Huong, Director of the Department of Health, said: According to the plan, in the first 6 months of 2025, the Lao Cai health sector will focus on completing 3 key tasks: promoting digital transformation, deploying electronic medical records in hospitals; receiving and transferring, mastering a number of new and high-tech techniques in medical examination and treatment to serve the people; putting hospitals under investment and construction into operation.

In particular, the task of investing in facilities, equipment, and putting new hospitals into operation is being urgently implemented. On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Vietnam Doctors' Day (February 27), the high-tech building of the Provincial General Hospital was officially inaugurated. In the coming time, the projects of newly built district general hospitals put into operation will better meet the needs of medical examination and treatment, and health care for the people in the area.

With the determination of the Provincial People's Committee, the close coordination between investors, local authorities and contractors, hospitals from provincial to district levels are expected to be completed on schedule in the second quarter of 2025. This is not only an important step forward in the health sector, but also contributes to sustainable development and ensures social security for people in the province.
