Overcoming limitations
According to Ms. Hoang Thi Thanh Tam, when introducing products to the world, Indochina encountered difficulties in customer trust; payment and information security; logistics and supply chain. In addition, other issues such as: time zone difference, language, customer preferences, etc. were also obstacles.
Assessing the export advantages of Vietnamese products, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Uyen - Marketing Director of Alibaba.com Vietnam Co., Ltd. said that the advantages of Vietnamese export products are competitive prices; diverse products and designs; guaranteed quality. In addition, the advantages from Free Trade Agreements will help Vietnamese enterprises confidently boost exports through e-commerce.
However, according to Alibaba.com representative, Vietnamese export enterprises often face difficulties with language; lack of marketing skills and use of support tools; logistics... in the international market.
To help overcome these difficulties, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Duong said that the Trade Promotion Agency is coordinating with the e-commerce platform Alibaba.com to build and develop the “Vietnam National Pavilion” - Vietnam Pavilion on the e-commerce platform Alibaba.com. The purpose is to introduce and promote Vietnamese products to international customers, promoting the export of Vietnamese products to the world.
This e-commerce platform has great potential for export businesses because it has more than 260 million users, 47 million buyers, and businesses in over 200 countries and territories. That is why the Trade Promotion Agency decided to cooperate with this platform.
According to the plan, the “Vietnam National Pavilion” on the Alibaba.com e-commerce platform will gather 100 typical participating enterprises. The Trade Promotion Agency and the Alibaba.com e-commerce platform are preparing to select 100 typical enterprises to be present at the Vietnam National Pavilion in December 2023.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Uyen added that businesses need to equip themselves with more knowledge to understand the market, goals and target customers; marketing and using marketing tools; using customer information security tools; proactively approaching and selling products without necessarily going through e-commerce platforms.
