On January 5, a representative of the Traffic Police Department (Ministry of Public Security) said that Road Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 7 had just issued a ticket to a driver driving at 210km/h on the My Thuan - Can Tho Expressway.
The offending driver was identified as NHGB (born in 1987, residing in An Giang). The male driver was fined for driving a car over the speed limit by more than 35km/h and with a driver's license that had expired for more than 3 months.
Police determined that at around 9:35 p.m. on December 31, NHGB was driving a Mercedes on the My Thuan - Can Tho highway. When reaching around Km 128+300, the male driver accelerated to a speed of 210 km/h. Meanwhile, the maximum speed allowed on the route is 90 km/h.
Police also discovered that the driver was using a driving license that had expired since February 2015.
A representative of the Traffic Police Department said that driver B. drove at high speed with the purpose of filming a clip and posting it on TikTok.

At the police station, the driver admitted to the violation. The traffic police force wrote a ticket for the driver with the following violations: "Driving the vehicle over the speed limit by more than 35km/h", "Having a driver's license that has expired for 3 months or more".
Driver B. will be fined 10 - 12 million VND for speeding and 10 - 12 million VND for using a driver's license that has expired for 3 months or more.
Previously, a clip of more than 5 minutes long was circulated on social networks with the image of a man driving a car at high speed on the highway. This person boasted that at one point he reached a speed of 210km/h, along with information that the My Thuan - Can Tho highway was newly built and ran smoothly.
There was also at least one other person in the passenger seat, whose job was to film and record the scene of the clock reaching extremely high speeds.
The clip that appeared online has attracted a lot of comments from the online community. Many drivers expressed outrage at the male driver's disregard for the law.
