(CLO) On the eve of Lunar New Year 2025, people in the Buddha's hand growing village of Dac So (Hoai Duc district, Hanoi) are busy serving customers who come to buy Buddha's hand to worship their ancestors on the occasion of this year's traditional New Year.

As the Lunar New Year 2025 approaches, farmers in famous ornamental plant growing villages in Hanoi such as Tu Lien, Nhat Tan, Me Linh, Dac So... are busy taking care of, trimming and serving customers who come to buy products to enjoy during this year's traditional New Year.

As Tet 2025 approaches, Buddha's hand gardeners in Dac So are busy serving customers.

At Dac So Buddha's hand village (Hoai Duc district, Hanoi), on the afternoon of January 13, many gardeners here were busy taking care of the trees and welcoming customers to buy goods before Tet 2025.

The reporter recorded at the Buddha's hand garden of Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy's family (34 years old, owner of Thanh Thuy garden, 5 acres with more than 1,000 tree heads). Ms. Thuy said: "Because the geology of this area is quite high, our garden was not affected much during the recent Yagi storm, basically keeping most of the tree heads, but due to the strong wind and storm, the first batch of Buddha's hand fruits fell a lot, now there are only the back rows with a relatively sparse fruit head ratio."

"Before the Lunar New Year this year, our garden still supplied to wholesale customers around Hanoi and sent to provinces/cities across the country, so most of the fruit heads had many orders. As for retail customers, the garden has a stable number of customers all year round, and we still welcome retail and wholesale customers all year round," Ms. Thuy added.

Buddha's hand comes in many varieties, the size determines the price of each product.

Regarding the price of Buddha's hand, Ms. Thuy said that depending on the size and design, the price ranges from a few tens of thousands of dong to a few hundred thousand dong. In particular, Thanh Thuy garden also has mini Buddha's hand with prices from 20 thousand to 30 thousand dong available to serve customers.

"Almost every year, our garden sells out all the Buddha's hand flowers available in the garden. Except for customers who order more to go to the temple after Tet or order to buy goods to sell after Tet, we will have some left over," said Ms. Thuy.

In fact, despite being affected by storm No. 3, the price of quality Buddha's hand (large size) still increased from 20% to 30% compared to previous years, while the prices of general and small sizes remained the same as previous years.

Talking about the price of Buddha's hand before the full moon of December (December), Ms. Thuy said that like the full moon of last year, this year's price remains the same. "Customers are coming to buy Buddha's hand near Tet more and more, many customers have placed orders since after storm No. 3 to use for the full moon of December and the traditional Tet holiday. From now until Tet, I hope for good weather so that my business will be profitable, and my family will have more money to cover their living expenses," Ms. Thuy confided.

Ms. Thuy said that the price of quality Buddha's hand (large size) this year increased from 20% to 30% compared to previous years.

Unlike other plants, Buddha’s hand is a difficult species to grow and must be carefully cared for so that the tree can grow and produce fruit regularly. On average, a Buddha’s hand tree will have a lifespan of about 4-6 years depending on weather conditions. Therefore, each gardener must have a reserve of young trees to have enough fruit in time to serve the annual holidays and Tet.

Therefore, to have Buddha's hand fruit as supplied to the market today, each farmer must have spent a lot of effort and money to take care of it. Hopefully, the Lunar New Year 2025 will be a bumper year for farmers of Dac So Buddha's hand village in particular and farmers in other provinces/cities in general.
