North and South actors combine in Tet movie "Love by mistake best friend"

Kaity Nguyen, Tran Ngoc Vang and Thanh Son, 3 actors from the North and South, officially collaborated in the movie "Love by mistake for a best friend" scheduled to be released during Tet.

“Love by mistake best friend” is a remake of the famous Thai film “Friendzone” in which the beautiful actress Baifern Pimchanok collaborated with Nine Naphat. Coming to the Vietnamese version, the film is called “Love by mistake best friend”, in which Kaity Nguyen will play the role of Binh An, “fate or debt” with Bao Toan (Tran Ngoc Vang) and Vu Tran (Thanh Son).

Working together on the big screen for the first time, the trio shared many thoughts about the characters they played. Sharing about the role of Binh An, Kaity expressed: "Binh An always longs to be loved. When struggling between emotions and reason, she is willing to love madly, even blindly, regardless of right or wrong. Through a journey full of ironies and emotions, Binh An slows down to feel and understand all the feelings around her. Through that, she also brings interesting messages to the audience."

Besides the female lead role with a completely different image from her previous successful roles, in "Loving the Wrong Best Friend", Kaity Nguyen also takes on the role of Creative Producer, contributing to the creative process and shaping the style of the film.

Following Kaity Nguyen, Tran Ngoc Vang said that he had deeply sympathized with the character Bao Toan since the first script readings: “The most similar point between me and Bao Toan is our personality, energy and excitement wherever we are. During pre-production, I researched and delved deeply to live this role in the most complete way.”

As for Thanh Son, although he resembles Vu Tran in his goatee look, there are still some differences between him and the character. “In ‘Love by mistake for a close friend’, Vu Tran is the director and producer, and knows how to play many musical instruments. So that was my biggest challenge when playing the role, because I had to learn to play the guitar in a short time,” the actor shared.

“Love by mistake with a best friend” is the first film directed by director Diep The Vinh, accompanied by director Nguyen Quang Dung. Remaking a successful work like Friendzone is a difficult task. Sharing about the process of Vietnamizing the script, the director duo said: “It took us half a year to complete the script, there was pressure but also no less interesting. Besides cultural details, we also focused on building details in acting, the message the film conveys to suit the Vietnamese film market.”

Entering the 2025 Tet movie race, "Love by mistake best friend" promises to become an attractive spring appetizer, opening a happy new year, filled with laughter through a romantic but equally humorous love story with the most beautiful settings in Vietnam.

The film is produced by HK Film, Galaxy Studio and KAT House.
