"This family definitely writes poetry, I read it and thought about it without knowing what dish it was," a netizen shared.
Nhat Bac account expressed: "After finishing the wedding feast, I still can't guess the name of the dishes. It's so wonderful with a menu full of quintessential dishes."
Speaking with Dan Tri reporter, groom Pham Tuan Thanh (Son Thinh commune, Van Chan district, Yen Bai province) confirmed that the menu with a series of strange dish names was used in his wedding with bride Thanh Nga which took place on November 17.
The author of the names of the 14 dishes is Ms. Nguyen Tu Phuong - the mother of the groom Tuan Thanh. On the day of the wedding, this young man and his wife were surprised to learn that the family decided to print a unique menu and place it on the banquet table.
"Before getting married, my wife and I were so busy that we didn't have time to guess the names of the dishes. More than 10 years ago, when my brother got married, my mother thought of the names of the dishes in such a humorous way. My family wanted the wedding to leave guests with a little impression from the smallest things," Tuan Thanh said.
Ms. Nguyen Tu Phuong spent 2 evenings thinking of the names of the dishes. Before the party, the guests guessed the names of each dish, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere on the hundredth anniversary of her two children.
Ms. Phuong shared: "I was surprised when I saw the menu for Tuan Thanh's son's wedding party being widely shared by netizens. My youngest son's wedding had 40 tents and 120 tables on the wedding day. I want to bring joy to the guests and leave beautiful memories for my two children on their wedding day."
Ms. Phuong lives a happy life and has a sense of humor, so the process of creating a dish name does not take too much time. Ms. Phuong tries to skillfully use everyday speech and add Sino-Vietnamese words to increase the elegance of the dish.
Specifically, the names of some dishes are explained as follows: Potato appetizer - fried potatoes; fried shrimp with long phuong - fried shrimp; goat meat stir-fried with lemongrass and chili; sea monster bathing in the mist - braised catfish; black ox walking in the garden - grilled buffalo rolled in mustard leaves; golden ox playing on the water wharf - steamed beef ham; mountain girl throwing con - bamboo shoot soup; warm hometown love - plain rice; sweet mandarin duck fruit - fruit dessert; gentle sun - sunflower seeds; source of love - filtered water...
Love from school days
Groom Tuan Thanh and bride Thanh Nga are from the same hometown of Yen Bai, both born in 2003. The couple decided to get married after 8 years of dating. Their love blossomed from friendship while studying at the same secondary school.
Thanks to the two families knowing each other before, their love story received the support of their parents. Tuan Thanh and Thanh Nga's love went smoothly, without any obstacles. Since grade 11, the couple changed the way they addressed each other from "uncle" to "mom and dad" when they met to create closeness and intimacy.

"Small conflicts in love are completely unavoidable, but because we are the same age, we have the same thoughts on many issues in life. Realizing the support of both parents, we try to turn big conflicts into small ones, small ones into nothing ones to preserve our feelings, aiming for a happy wedding, building a sustainable married life until we are old and gray," Tuan Thanh confided.
Tuan Thanh once thought about waiting until he was financially stable and more mature to get married. However, after 8 years of dating, feeling that they were compatible and supported by their families, the couple wanted to get married soon.
"I don't know when we'll be financially well-off, and my wife also has her own youth. After such a long time, everyone around us knows about our feelings. We want to get married and turn a new page in our lives," Tuan Thanh said.
