Ensuring the Red River Festival takes place solemnly, creating a special impression

Attending the conference were leaders of a number of provincial departments, branches and sectors; representatives of a number of districts, towns and cities.

Comrade Dinh Minh Ha, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the Red River Festival reported on the progress of preparations for the Festival.

The meeting discussed and planned the main contents and activities such as: opening ceremony and art program, fireworks display; experiencing the cultural space and cuisine of ethnic groups in Lao Cai province, provinces along the Red River (Vietnam) and Hong Ha district, Yunnan (China); displaying beautiful photos, publications, documents, and artifacts about Lao Cai and Red River culture; Marathon "Friendship Road" Lao Cai, Vietnam - Hong Ha, China; International Cycling Race "One track - two countries"; Open Golf Championship of Lao Cai province in 2024; International workshop "Solutions to promote cooperation and development between provinces in the Red River basin - Vietnam and Yunnan province - China"; Campaign to compose theme songs about Lao Cai, Red River; communication activities for the Red River Festival.

The opening ceremony and art program are expected to be held at the construction site of Lao Cai Cultural Park (Bac Cuong ward, Lao Cai city).

Regarding preparations, up to now, Lao Cai province has worked with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, discussed with Hong Ha district (China) the viewpoint that in 2024, Lao Cai will organize the Festival at the provincial level, and in the following years, upgrade it to a national and international scale; build the Festival into a brand, a highlight of Lao Cai and Hong Ha district. At the same time, proposed to Hong Ha district that from next year, the organization will be rotated between the two localities of the two countries.

After listening to representatives of sectors and localities proposing tasks to be implemented, Comrade Giang Thi Dung, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Red River Festival affirmed: The Red River Festival is a major cultural, sports and tourism event, organized for the first time under the brand of Lao Cai province. Through that, it will strengthen connections, cultural and sports exchanges, economic and tourism development cooperation; connect trade between the northwestern provinces, provinces along the Red River of Vietnam with Yunnan province (China); 2024 is the first year Lao Cai organizes, so it needs to be carefully prepared.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee directed departments, branches, units and localities, based on their assigned functions and tasks, to uphold their sense of responsibility, proactively monitor and coordinate the implementation of the plan to ensure efficiency and progress, contributing to the overall success of the first Red River Festival in 2024.

Specifically, before September 30, the site for the opening ceremony must be leveled; a location for fireworks must be surveyed and selected to ensure enough space for spectators; the urban beautification must be promptly completed and ensured; plans must be developed to ensure security, order, traffic safety, safety and stability of power sources for the Festival; and a communication strategy for the Festival and Lao Cai tourism must be implemented on television channels, central newspapers, neighboring localities and social networking platforms.
