The AAC was established to enhance mutual understanding between Australia and ASEAN, promote cultural, educational, business and people-to-people connections.
Ambassador Pham Hung Tam welcomed the establishment of the Center and suggested that Director Fiona Hoggart, in addition to the aforementioned pillar activities, will support promoting strengths and recommend solutions to remove bottlenecks in cooperation between Australia and ASEAN countries.
Emphasizing support for coordination and cooperation between the ASEAN Committee in Canberra and the Center, the Ambassador expressed his willingness to propose candidates from the Vietnamese community in Australia to the Center's Advisory Board if requested.
