Dai-ichi Life Vietnam launches 'Urban Tree Planting' project in Da Nang

As part of a series of activities and events aimed at celebrating the milestone of serving more than 5 million customers and committing to sustainable green growth by 2023, while responding to Dai-ichi Life Group's commitment to respond to climate change globally, the program "Connecting millions of loves - Happiness for the earth" is the starting activity of the "Urban tree planting" project, planting 15,000 trees in major cities including Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City, with a total budget of 1.5 billion VND to reduce carbon emissions, contribute to urban greening and protect the living environment.

According to the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment, a mature tree can absorb about 22 kg of carbon from the atmosphere and exchange oxygen beneficial to life each year. Accordingly, from the 5th year onwards, with 15,000 trees planted, it is estimated that it can absorb nearly 330 tons of carbon emissions each year.

Dai-ichi Life Vietnam's staff and financial consultants enthusiastically participated in planting trees at the ceremony.

The "Urban Tree Planting" project will be implemented synchronously and on a large scale throughout 2023 with the budget contributed from the achievements of participants in the Walking/Running Program and online sports activities for the community "Dai-ichi Life - Love Road 2023". At the same time, with the message "Connecting millions of loves", the project also helps raise awareness of environmental protection through community education programs to build a positive lifestyle and spread love - love for yourself and your family, love for the community and love for the earth.

"Each tree planted today is a message reminding us to cherish and protect nature because protecting nature is also protecting our lives. Tree planting is a call for each of us to return to our own source of love, sow green seeds to contribute to protecting life and bringing happiness to the earth," Mr. Quan added.
