Congress to establish Ninh Thuan Salanganes Nest Association, term I, 2023-2028

On October 21, the Provincial Salanganes Nest Association (SSA) Organizing Committee held the Congress to establish the SSA of Ninh Thuan province, term I, 2023-2028. Attending were comrades: Tran Quoc Nam, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Tran Minh Nam, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department.

Our province has a favorable ecological environment for the development of swiftlets. Swiftlet farming helps many people develop their economy, bringing high income. The whole province currently has 594 swiftlet houses, mainly concentrated in Phan Rang-Thap Cham City; Ninh Son, Ninh Hai, Ninh Phuoc districts with an estimated output of nearly 3 tons of raw bird's nests/year.

Although there is a lot of development potential, the bird's nest farming industry in the province is spontaneous, lacking connections to product consumption; the bird's nest production process according to export standards is not guaranteed, and there is still a situation of hunting birds, reducing the bird's nest population... In order for the bird's nest industry to develop sustainably with high economic efficiency, the establishment of the provincial HHYS is extremely necessary.

Comrades: Tran Quoc Nam, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Tran Minh Nam, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department attended the congress.

The Provincial Association of Bird's Nests was established under Decision No. 1124/QD-UBND dated August 24, 2023 of the Provincial People's Committee. This is a professional social organization operating in the field of bird's nests, organized and operated according to the charter approved by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, in compliance with the provisions of law. The Association operates within the province, under the state management of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and agencies and units related to the Association's field of operation.

After a period of operation, up to now, the Association has attracted 50 members and is headquartered at 90, 16/4 Street, My Hai Ward (Phan Rang-Thap Cham City).

Within the framework of the congress program, delegates and members discussed and voted to approve the Provincial HHYS Charter consisting of 8 Chapters and 27 Articles; voted to approve the direction of activities of the Provincial HHYS, term I, term 2023-2028.

The main directions and activities in the first term include: Building relationships with state management agencies in the province to reflect the aspirations of members and business organizations to support legal corridor policies and administrative procedures to promote the construction of a healthy production and business environment in the field of bird's nest; being proactive in cooperative relationships with organizations inside and outside the province, business associations in the area to connect and create strength, promote the role of the association to promote production, business and processing of bird's nest products in the province; providing information, training, and supporting members on technical advances in production and business according to the value chain and supply chain of bird's nest products through the regular activities of the Association...

Comrade Tran Quoc Nam, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee spoke at the congress.

Speaking at the Congress, comrade Tran Quoc Nam affirmed the values and potentials of the province in developing the bird's nest farming industry. He suggested that HHYS urgently build a Fanpage towards digital transformation in business activities, promote its role, and operate in accordance with the Association's principles and purposes to gather and link intelligence and resources between businesses, organizations, and individuals in the province to cooperate, support and share information and experience, increase production and business efficiency in the field of bird's nest farming and the bird's nest supply chain so that the bird's nest industry in Ninh Thuan province can develop more and more sustainably, ensuring veterinary hygiene and the environment, improving competitiveness, building the brand of bird's nest products in the province, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality.

Provincial leaders presented flowers to congratulate the first Executive Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union on its launch.

With a spirit of solidarity and high unity, the congress elected the Executive Committee of the Provincial HHYS term I, consisting of 15 members. Mr. Nguyen Van Son was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the Provincial HHYS term I, term 2023 - 2028.
