Today (November 12), Ho Chi Minh City National University announced sample questions for the competency assessment exam from 2025.

Accordingly, the test includes the Language Use and Mathematics sections, while increasing the number of questions in these two sections to increase reliability and discrimination; the Logic - Data Analysis and Problem Solving sections are restructured into the Scientific Thinking section, to assess candidates' ability in logic and scientific reasoning when solving real-life situations in the fields of science, technology, economics and society.

The questions in the Scientific Thinking section are designed to provide information, data, facts, experimental planning and experimental results. Through this, candidates demonstrate their ability to understand and apply information, determine experimental results and predict laws.

The test consists of 120 objective multiple choice questions with a 150 minute paper test. The test results are determined by the multiple choice method according to the question response theory. The score of each question is weighted differently depending on the difficulty.

The test scores are converted by section, with the maximum score of the test being 1,200. The maximum score for each component of the test is shown on the score sheet as follows: Vietnamese 300 points, English 300 points, Mathematics 300 points and Scientific Thinking 300 points.
