Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics opens two technology majors

In 2024, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics will open two new majors: Art Technology and Intelligent Control and Automation.

Associate Professor Dr. Bui Quang Hung, Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, said on February 15 that the Art Technology industry will be the intersection of art and technology. Traditional media such as painting, sculpture, traditional music are combined with digital technology, artificial intelligence, virtual reality and other advanced technologies to create unique and sophisticated products.

Regarding the field of Intelligent Control and Automation, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Truong Thinh - Director of the Institute of Intelligent and Interactive Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, said that in order to anticipate the trend when Vietnam is a potential market for the chip and semiconductor component manufacturing industry. He said that this industry not only needs engineers specializing in engineering, research and development of components but also needs operators, programmers of automatic and intelligent production systems, understanding factories, production lines, and processes and applying them creatively to increase productivity, quality and efficiency.

Therefore, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics develops a major that intersects Engineering, Computer Science and Applied Automation Technology.

In addition, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics will re-enroll the Customs - Foreign Trade Management program (majoring in Taxation) at the Ho Chi Minh City headquarters and the Taxation program at the Vinh Long branch.

Details of admission criteria and combinations of majors at Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics

Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics said it will maintain 6 stable admission methods, including: Direct admission; admission of candidates who graduated from foreign high school programs and have international certificates; admission of excellent students; admission of transcripts according to subject combinations; consideration of capacity assessment test scores and high school graduation exam results in 2024.

For each major, students can choose to study the program entirely or partially in English, or study in Vietnamese. Tuition for the Vietnamese program ranges from 0.97 to more than 1 million VND per credit, while the English program is 1.4 times higher.

Tuition fee at Vinh Long branch is 625,000 VND per credit, equal to 65% of tuition fee in Ho Chi Minh City.

50% of students admitted to new programs in Computer Science, Information Technology, and Engineering Technology will be awarded scholarships. The value of the scholarships is as follows:

In 2023, with the graduation exam score review method, the benchmark score of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics at the Ho Chi Minh City headquarters fluctuates from 22.49 to 27.2, the highest being the Marketing Technology major.
