National Economics University (NEU) requires lecturers not to teach online with full-time students to ensure quality.
In a document issued two days ago, the school also requested faculties, institutes and department heads to remind lecturers to strictly implement teaching plans, following schedules and timetables to ensure quality.
Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Duc Trieu, Head of Training Department, explained on the morning of March 16 that this was because the school did not have specific regulations or instructions on online teaching.
According to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, universities are allowed to teach online up to 30% of the total program volume. Mr. Trieu said that to teach online effectively, there needs to be instructors and supervisors from the school, as during the Covid-19 period. When teaching and learning conditions have returned to normal, the leaders of the National Economics University always direct that online learning is not allowed to ensure quality.
"This time, the school reiterates its policy and warnings," said Mr. Trieu.

Online teaching and learning became popular in early 2020 when the Covid-19 pandemic appeared in Vietnam, forcing students to stop going to school in person. After that, many schools still maintained this form, accounting for about 1-25% of the training program. Some schools combine online and in-person learning in some subjects.
In addition, before and after Tet holiday, students at many schools can also study online to extend their time at home and make it easier to travel.
