On October 9, the People's Security University (PSU) held a ceremony to celebrate the 60th anniversary of its traditional day (October 9, 1963 - October 9, 2023) and received the Second Class Fatherland Protection Medal. General To Lam, Politburo member, Secretary of the Central Public Security Party Committee, Minister of Public Security attended.
International guests included Mr. Chan Sorykan, Consul General, representative of the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Cambodia in Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Vanxay Keovilay, Consul, representative of the Consulate of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in Ho Chi Minh City.

At the ceremony, Major General Doan Minh Ly, Principal of the People's Security University, reviewed the 60-year journey of the school's construction and development. Over the past 60 years, the school has made great contributions to the Southern revolution as well as to the cause of education, training and national security protection.
Speaking at the ceremony, General To Lam, Minister of Public Security, acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements that the People's Public Security University has achieved in 60 years of construction and development.

General To Lam believes that the school will continue to preserve and promote the glorious tradition of the heroic school, strive, innovate, be creative, and excellently complete assigned tasks; contribute to building a truly clean, strong, disciplined, elite, and modern People's Public Security Force (CAND), meeting the requirements and tasks in the new situation.
General To Lam also noted that the People's Public Security University continues to effectively implement the requirements of fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training, creating high-quality human resources to successfully implement the general and specific goals in Resolution 12-NQ/TW dated March 16, 2022 of the Politburo on promoting the building of a truly clean, strong, disciplined, elite, and modern public security force, meeting the requirements and tasks in the new situation.
Along with that, we pay attention to building and developing a team of lecturers and educational managers with sufficient political qualities, teaching and research capacity and the ability to integrate internationally; continue to innovate and improve the quality of education, training and fostering, considering this the most important and comprehensive task of the school.
The school also needs to research and develop a strategy for international cooperation in education and training and be active and proactive in organizing international cooperation in education and training according to assigned functions and tasks, especially with neighboring countries Laos and Cambodia.

On this occasion, General To Lam, authorized by the President, awarded the Second Class Fatherland Protection Medal to the school for its outstanding achievements in training, combat service, building the People's Public Security Forces, maintaining political security, social order and safety, contributing to the cause of building socialism and defending the Fatherland. The school was also awarded the Traditional Flag by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.
