Participating in the discussion, regarding voters' opinions, delegate Duong Van Phuoc - Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Quang Nam province said that although the results of resolving and responding to voters' petitions have achieved many results, there are still a few general responses, without a specific roadmap for resolution, and have not satisfactorily resolved voters' opinions and petitions.
According to the delegate, the main reason for this situation is that resources and funding do not allow for the implementation of all recommendations, making it difficult to fully meet voters' wishes, especially those related to infrastructure investment. The problem is how to balance existing resources, arrange reasonable priorities, what is urgent and needs to be invested first, what is not urgent and needs to be extended and investment phased.
Regarding Quang Nam, delegate Duong Van Phuoc emphasized: The most urgent and necessary issues in Quang Nam province at present are National Highway 1A and National Highway 14D.
For National Highway 14D, passing through Nam Giang district, the section from Ben Giang to Nam Giang international border gate is very narrow and seriously degraded, but the traffic volume has increased dramatically recently, the route does not ensure traffic safety as well as transportation capacity.
If it used to take only about 2 hours to travel this 74km route, now it takes 5-6 hours, traffic jams often occur; people and businesses are frustrated and cry out to no avail.
This is one of the main routes, part of the East-West Economic Corridor 2, which plays a particularly important role in the socio-economic development strategy of the dynamic economic region of the Central region with Northeast Thailand, Southern Laos and is the only route to the highland area, the western border of Quang Nam province. It is very necessary to prioritize investment in upgrading and repairing immediately to facilitate trade on this only route.
For National Highway 1A, this is one of the main North-South routes through the province, the traffic volume is very large and mixed with many types of vehicles, but some sections through Quang Nam province do not have lanes designed for non-motorized vehicles and pedestrians, which is extremely dangerous.
People riding motorbikes and bicycles here are no different from flirting with death. Traffic accidents happen frequently. Many times the people, the government and the National Assembly delegation have made complaints but no investment has been made.
The delegates suggested that ministries and branches at all levels need to make a quick decision and pay more special attention to focusing on investing in upgrading two key routes that voters and people of Quang Nam have earnestly requested to ensure traffic safety, meet the transportation and travel needs of the people and especially reduce traffic accidents that often occur on these routes.
