Phu Lang pottery village in Que Vo district, Bac Ninh province, has existed for nearly 700 years with extremely sophisticated ceramic products famous throughout the country, becoming one of the oldest craft villages in Vietnam.

Author Vu Tien Dung submitted to the Photo and Video Contest “Happy Vietnam” organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications, with the work “Specialties of Phu Lang Pottery Village”. Through the photo series, we will show you the beauty of ceramic products in Phu Lang Pottery Village, a traditional craft village specializing in pottery production in the Kinh Bac region.

Under the talented and skillful hands of artisans, traditional products are gradually formed.

Furthermore, the outstanding feature of Phu Lang pottery is the use of the embossing method in the form of carving, also known as double carving, with natural, durable and unique glaze color; the shape of the pottery is rustic, rough but strong, containing the primitive beauty of earth and fire, and very bold of sculptural shaping.

Phu Lang pottery has its own unique characteristics, which are brown, dark brown, light yellow, dark yellow, brown yellow glazed ceramic products... which people commonly call eel skin glaze. Coming to Phu Lang, you will discover and admire beautiful and unique ceramic products in the ceramic village. The ceramic products here are very diverse, unique and sophisticated. Because of its uniqueness and sophistication, many domestic and foreign tourists have come here to visit and admire the products from the hands of ceramic artisans. Phu Lang pottery village was formed and developed around the Tran Dynasty, early 14th century. Currently, the Vietnam History Museum still preserves and displays a number of Phu Lang pottery products dating from the 17th to 19th centuries./.
