Highlights of the 2nd Hanoi Agricultural Festival 2023 in Soc Son district

This is an important agricultural trade promotion event within the series of activities to organize the program "2nd Hanoi Agricultural Products Festival 2023".

The event gathered 160 booths of 108 enterprises and cooperatives and over 1,500 lines of agricultural products, processed foods, typical OCOP products, handicraft products, traditional craft villages of Hanoi city and 23 other provinces and cities.

Mr. Bui Duy Quang - Deputy Director of the Hanoi Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion emphasized that the event aims to promote the introduction and promotion of agricultural products, processed foods, OCOP products, handicraft products, typical traditional craft villages of Hanoi and other provinces and cities; contribute to the preservation of traditional craft villages, rural community spaces and products of natural origin, preserving the traditional cultural and tourism features of the locality.

Soc Son district is a locality adjacent to Tam Dao mountain area with advantages in climate and soil that help develop a variety of agricultural crops and medicinal plants with high economic value such as golden tea flowers, raspberries, Solanum procumbens... and dozens of livestock farms applying high technology, meeting VietGap standards.

In particular, Soc Son district has over 100 OCOP products meeting 3-4 star standards, introduced through fairs, and trusted by consumers.

This is also an opportunity for the government and people of Soc Son district to promote the potential of agriculture, OCOP products; tourism products, and traditional culture of the locality.

The entire Festival space is beautifully designed, staged entirely in an open space with many typical agricultural and rural models and miniatures, linking agricultural tourism, bearing a strong local imprint to attract visitors to visit and experience activities during the Festival.

Products displayed and introduced at the Festival are agricultural products, local specialties; processed foods, certified OCOP products; organic agricultural products and high-tech agricultural products, etc. with full packaging, labels, and traceability stamps; handicraft products, traditional craft villages.

During the Festival, the People's Committee of Soc Son district will organize a special program to perform the intangible cultural heritage of humanity "Giong Festival of Soc Temple - Soc Son - Spiritual Bright Area". In addition, it will also present and introduce the entire development planning of the district.

In addition, many sideline activities are also organized to attract visitors such as: Folk rice cooking contest and experience of cooking rice in a clay pot and pickling vegetables; Bamboo flower ham pulling; Betel and phoenix wing wrapping; "Youth Imprint" art program; Lion dance, singing, folk dance program on Mid-Autumn Festival night; Folk clay figurine making performance; Embroidery, rice painting making...

Previously, the event "2nd Hanoi Agricultural Products Festival 2023" was successfully held in Dong Anh district (April 30 - May 1), Ba Vi district (July 6 - 9), Soc Son district (September 28 - October 1) and will continue to take place in Dan Phuong district in the near future.
