In order to honor the unique cultural values of Vietnam's seas and islands, affirm the potential of sea and island tourism, and create momentum for economic, cultural and social development for provinces and cities with seas and islands, at the end of August 2023, in Binh Thuan, there will be an exhibition and display of colorful sea and island cultural heritage. This is a large-scale exhibition, one of the highlights in the series of events of the 2023 Tourism Year "Binh Thuan - Green Convergence".
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, there will be two consecutive exhibitions taking place in Binh Thuan at the end of August and the beginning of September. These are the "Exhibition of the colors of Vietnam's sea and island cultural heritage" taking place from August 27 to September 3, 2023 at the Provincial Cultural Center and the exhibition with the theme "Binh Thuan cultural heritage connecting regions" taking place from August 31 to September 6, 2023 at the Po Sah Inư Tower Relic (Phu Hai Ward, Phan Thiet City). Up to now, preparations such as layout design, outline and list of images, exhibition artifacts, displays, etc. have all been completed.
In particular, the "Exhibition of the colors of Vietnam's sea and island cultural heritage" with the participation of 23 provinces and cities nationwide, chaired by the Vietnam Cultural and Art Exhibition Center, in coordination with the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and related units. The exhibition has activities such as the exhibition on the theme "Vietnam's sea and island cultural heritage", cultural and artistic exchange on the theme "Sea, island - the heart of Vietnam", folk games, folk dances, display and introduction of tourism products... Thereby, affirming the sovereignty of Vietnam's sea and islands and the territorial integrity of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam as sacred and inviolable. At the same time, raising awareness, arousing patriotism, solidarity and a sense of responsibility to protect the country's sea and island sovereignty for generations.
At the exhibition, Binh Thuan will introduce nearly 40 images and 37 artifacts related to traditional occupations and salvaged antiques from sunken ships in Binh Thuan waters under 4 themes: landscapes, relics and festivals of coastal fishermen in Binh Thuan; marine and island economy in Binh Thuan; content of historical decrees and certificates related to Vietnam's sovereignty over seas and islands donated to the State by the Le clan in Binh Thanh, Tuy Phong; and antiques from sunken ships in Binh Thuan waters.
At the exhibition "Binh Thuan Cultural Heritage Connecting Regions" at the Po Sah Inư Tower relic site, there are museums of 6 provinces and cities representing regions across the country and private collector Nguyen Ngoc An in coordination. In which, Binh Thuan will introduce to researchers, tourists and people 3 main topics, about Sa Huynh archaeological culture and Da Kai archaeological site in Binh Thuan including 30 artifacts and 20 photos of excavation, restoration, preservation and artifacts. The theme of the culture of the Cham, K'ho, Raglay ethnic groups... in Binh Thuan has 69 artifacts, 40 photos of traditional occupations, relics, festivals... The theme of relics, scenic spots, festivals and traditional crafts of the Kinh people is expected to have 3 artifacts and many products, fish sauce products, dragon fruit and 20 photos of scenic spots, relics, festivals, scenes of daily life, labor...
In addition, the exhibition also has booths introducing and promoting typical products of Binh Thuan; performances of brocade weaving, traditional pottery making and Cham folk songs, dances and music on the opening day.
These inter-regional exhibitions and displays are part of the golden week of Binh Thuan culture and tourism, including cultural activities, street music, etc., and are expected to bring people and tourists authentic and interesting experiences of culture and cuisine. Thereby, creating regular and long-term connections between provincial museums, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development and tourism of Binh Thuan in particular and the development of localities in general.
