Da Nang strengthens student exchange cooperation with Nagasaki province of Japan

In recent years, Nagasaki University (Japan) has sent many batches of interns and lecturers to study and work in Da Nang, achieving many good results.

On July 3, Vice Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City Nguyen Thi Anh Thi had a meeting and worked with the delegation of Nagasaki University (Japan) led by Ms. Satomi Iwashige, Vice President in charge of strategy and international relations of the school.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, since 2013, Nagasaki University and the Department of Foreign Affairs of Da Nang City have started promoting the trainee exchange program.

In 2017, with the approval of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, the Department of Foreign Affairs of Da Nang City and Nagasaki University signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation, the main content of which is international student exchange.

During the period of 2018-2020, Nagasaki Prefectural University, together with the Goto City Government and the Nagasaki Prefectural Government of Japan, promoted the establishment of Goto Japanese Language School to organize Japanese language teaching for Vietnamese students with preferential tuition fees, with the aim of encouraging students to study on Goto Island, Nagasaki Prefecture, Southern Japan.

Currently, many Vietnamese students have graduated and are qualified in Japanese to continue studying higher education programs in Japan.

Besides, Nagasaki University actively participated in the Vietnam-Japan Festival in Da Nang city recently.

The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City expressed his gratitude to the leaders of Nagasaki University for sponsoring the implementation of the School Nutrition and Health Project in Da Nang City over the past years; affirming that the project has contributed to improving the capacity and knowledge of school nutrition and health for managers and caterers at kindergartens and primary schools in the city; improving the quality of care and nutrition services for preschool children and primary school students at kindergartens and primary schools.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi also said that Nagasaki University has made many contributions to promoting the friendly and cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Japan in general, and between Da Nang city and Japanese localities in particular in recent times.

The leaders of the People's Committee of Da Nang City hope that Nagasaki University will continue to pay attention, coordinate and support the city's functional agencies in the coming time, especially in the fields of education, training, health care...

At the meeting, Ms. Satomi Iwashige, Vice President in charge of strategy and international relations of Nagasaki University, thanked the government and people of Da Nang city for their warm feelings towards the working delegation.

Over the years, the school has sent many batches of interns and lecturers to study and work in Da Nang city, achieving many good results, the number of registered students increases every year. The knowledge and experience that students and lecturers have gathered during their time in Da Nang have been passed on and shared with generations of students and lecturers at Nagasaki University.

Ms. Satomi Iwashige assessed Da Nang as a city with great development potential, beautiful nature, and kind people; she hopes to have more opportunities to cooperate with Da Nang in the future.

According to Ms. Satomi Iwashige, Nagasaki University has many suitable majors to coordinate training and cooperation with Da Nang in the coming time such as: information technology, nursing, nursing...

Nagasaki University was founded in 1950, currently has over 3,000 undergraduate and graduate students; has signed official cooperation agreements with 15 universities worldwide, including Danang University./.

Vietnam-Japan Festival in Da Nang city takes place from July 4-7.

The festival contributes to promoting the Da Nang-Japan cooperation relationship; effectively implementing investment, trade, tourism, education and employment promotion activities; promoting cultural exchange and people-to-people diplomacy.
