On January 6, news from the People's Committee of Da Nang City said that it had just agreed on a plan to pilot the Bach Dang walking street, from Dragon Bridge to Tran Thi Ly Bridge (Hai Chau District).

Bach Dang walking street will be located on the west bank of the Han River, on the extended Bach Dang route.

Accordingly, Bach Dang walking street will be piloted from the first quarter of 2024 to the end of 2028 on the extended Bach Dang street, to the Duy Tan - Tran Thi Ly intersection (estimated length 1.2km) connecting with Nguyen Van Troi bridge (length 513m).

Walking street opening hours are from 3pm to 12am daily.

According to the plan, from 3pm to midnight every day, the extended Bach Dang street will use one lane on the east side with a grid of parking spots to arrange mobile sales vehicles.

The remaining three lanes are one-way, with hourly speed limit signs of 40km/h and hourly motor vehicle restrictions.

Regarding space and amenities, arrange mobile sales kiosks, restrooms, community spaces, free wifi, security cameras, renovate and improve the road leading to Nguyen Van Troi bridge, and paint murals.

In addition, Da Nang will also study landscape improvement, add lighting in the park area on the west bank of Nguyen Van Troi bridge; decorate with more trees along the route.

According to the orientation, Bach Dang walking street will have cultural and artistic activities, community activities including activities and services for people and tourists at APEC park.

“Forgotten” places become new tourist attractions

Bach Dang Wharf is located right on the road leading to Nguyen Van Troi Bridge. Previously, this area was “forgotten”, not invested in renovation, becoming shabby and polluting the environment.

Up to now, the wharf area is being invested in and renovated into a park and walking garden, with many amenities to serve tourists.

Specifically, the road leading to the Han River marina wharf will be a foreign landscape area, with a flower garden along the Han River, a service - product display area, an outdoor reception area...

Bach Dang Wharf will become a marina, welcoming world-famous yacht manufacturing and trading units.

The landscape in this area is designed in harmony with the natural landscape, creating a new check-in location for tourists and people of Da Nang.

Deep inside is a temporary wharf, currently being built to become a future luxury marina.

According to research, Da Nang will soon welcome world-famous yacht manufacturing and trading units.

In the long term, the marina will invest in additional logistics areas to serve yachts. From the pier going inside will be a yacht club with convenient services and entertainment for tourists.

This project is expected to be completed before the Lunar New Year 2024 to serve the needs of tourists and city residents, and to celebrate the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Previously, the People's Committee of Da Nang City had issued an official dispatch agreeing on a pilot plan to organize services and serve night tourism on Nguyen Van Troi Bridge and the East bank park at the foot of Nguyen Van Troi Bridge.

The plan has 2 phases: 2024 and from the first quarter of 2025 - 2028 with many special events and festivals periodically on weekends, holidays, and Tet at the North yard or South yard of the East bank park of Nguyen Van Troi bridge, on Nguyen Van Troi bridge.
