According to the latest update from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, on October 7, Ho Chi Minh City administered a total of 638 measles vaccines at 166 vaccination sites across the city. This result shows that up to now, the measles vaccination campaign has achieved 98% of the plan.
Thus, the total number of measles vaccinations in Ho Chi Minh City is currently 213,840. Of which, children aged 1-5 have received 44,525 doses (96.9%), and children aged 6-10 have received 145,776 doses (97.9%).
Besides, there are still 6 districts with measles vaccination rate less than 95% including Binh Tan district, District 10, Go Vap district, Tan Phu district, District 3 and Can Gio district.
The Department of Health recommends that the People's Committees of the above districts need to speed up the progress to achieve the campaign's goals in the district. As for districts that have achieved a rate of 95% or more, they need to maintain updates on the situation of mobile children to avoid missing unvaccinated children in the area.
Recently, Ho Chi Minh City recorded 14 cases of suspected measles rash fever (13 clinically suspected measles cases and 1 case ruled out measles).
There are 9/22 districts and cities with suspected measles rash fever cases including: District 7 (1 case), District 8 (1 case), Binh Chanh District (2 cases), Binh Tan District (3 cases), Binh Thanh District (2 cases), Cu Chi District (2 cases), Phu Nhuan District (1 case), Tan Phu District (1 case), Thu Duc City (1 case).
Data on suspected measles rash fever:
The total number of cumulative cases of rash fever suspected of measles recorded to date is 1,254 cases (519 laboratory-confirmed measles cases, 477 clinically suspected measles cases and 258 cases excluded from measles). Districts with high cumulative cases of rash fever suspected of measles include: Binh Chanh district (282 cases), Binh Tan district (250 cases) and Thu Duc city (110 cases).
