This is a comprehensive "test" to assess the quality of political teaching staff in units, thereby providing a basis for issuing fundamental solutions to improve the qualifications and capacity of this team; contributing to improving the quality of propaganda, education, ideological orientation, and the struggle to protect the Party's ideological foundation, meeting the requirements of the task of building the Army in general and the Military Region 5 Armed Forces in particular in the new situation.

In mid-May, the weather at the National Military Training Center II (Tay Son District, Binh Dinh Province), where the competition took place, was hot and muggy, but 102 outstanding candidates selected from the grassroots units in the entire Military Region entered the "competition" enthusiastically in 3 sections: Knowledge, lesson preparation, teaching practice and situation handling. The content of the lectures revolved around the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party, the resolutions of the Party Central Committee, the Central Military Commission; the topic of studying and following the ideology, morality and style of Ho Chi Minh, striving to be worthy of the title of Uncle Ho's Soldiers and the topics in the political education program for officers and professional soldiers...

Joining the competition atmosphere, we noticed that all contestants had prepared outlines and presentations very carefully, with vivid visual models, combining presentations with PowerPoint slideshows; relevant content, close application to reality, with good ideological orientation. The lecture outline on propaganda and mobilization work of the militia force to participate in resolving some complicated situations in the locality by comrade Tran Thi Hai Yen - Party Secretary, Political Commissar of the Military Command of Cu M'gar commune, Cu M'gar district, Dak Lak province was highly appreciated by the Jury. The teaching practice convinced the Jury, left a good impression and attracted cadres and contestants to focus on watching and listening.

In addition to the practical value of the topic, the structure of the lecture is tight and in-depth. In teaching, she also combines vivid image projections and coherent presentations. Comrade Tran Thi Hai Yen said: “In the current situation, strengthening education for militia officers and soldiers is very important. The outline I chose contributes to raising awareness, clearly defining the responsibility of the militia in carrying out mass mobilization work, participating in building a strong and comprehensive base, and fighting and criticizing reactionary and erroneous viewpoints that undermine the great national unity bloc.”

As the youngest contestant (24 years old), participating in this year's contest, Lieutenant Nguyen Huy Hoang - Deputy Political Commissar of the 90th Joint Company, Khanh Hoa Provincial Military Command shared: "At this contest, we were guided by the unit commander, the Organizing Committee, and the Jury, and learned from experience about the content, form, and teaching methods to improve the effectiveness of helping listeners understand, remember, and absorb easily. Through the contest, with the knowledge I have acquired, I will continue to study, practice skills, and methods, contributing to improving the quality of political teaching at the unit."

With an inspiring voice and a method of presenting, explaining, and using practical examples to demonstrate and clarify the issue in the lecture Strengthening Party building and rectification for new party members, Major Duong Quang Trung - Political Commissar of Battalion 72, Regiment 885, Quang Nam Provincial Military Command, left a deep impression at the contest. He shared: "I want to emphasize that in addition to strictly implementing the 19 things that party members are not allowed to do as stated in Regulation No. 37-QD/TW of the Central Executive Committee, each party member needs to pay attention to fulfilling the responsibility of setting an example and doing a good job of mobilizing family and friends to strictly implement the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's policies and laws".

As one of the four contestants who won the first prize at the contest, Senior Lieutenant Hoang Minh Tuan - Political Commissar of Company 12, Battalion 3, Division 315, excitedly said: “To achieve high results, in addition to practicing and breaking away from lesson plans and lectures, I spent a lot of time researching how to prepare electronic lectures, PowerPoint presentations, images, and videos to suit the content and attract listeners. For unclear issues, I actively consulted, learned, and asked my superiors and teammates for guidance, from which I mastered my lectures and presentation skills, contributing to improving the quality of my lectures.”

According to Lieutenant Colonel Pham Hai Minh - Deputy Commissar of Division 315, the Division has 3 comrades participating in this year's contest, all of whom have won high prizes (1 First Prize, 1 Second Prize and 1 Third Prize). To achieve the above results, the unit has prepared and organized the contest from the grassroots seriously, selecting a team to participate in the Military Region level contest. During the process of reviewing and practicing the lecture, the unit sent cadres with good expertise and a lot of experience to contribute comments on the content of the outline; presentation methods and style, linking practical application to the situation of the unit and the tasks of the Army. Along with that, the Division deployed the candidates to go directly to the agencies and grassroots units to teach their topics, thereby both educating the unit's cadres and soldiers to deeply understand the lecture content, and training the psychology and mettle of the teachers...

According to the Organizing Committee's assessment, most of the contestants prepared their lectures with appropriate layout and content, correctly identified the key points; divided the time reasonably for each part and the whole lecture; many contestant lectures were carefully prepared and of good quality; the presentation had beautiful effects, clearly showing the content and topics presented; 100% of the political lectures had visual educational models to support direct teaching in the hall and serve as supplementary activities, guiding discussions, and reviewing after the lecture; many contestants answered 100% of the questions correctly in the cognitive test... At the end of the contest, the Organizing Committee awarded 4 First prizes, 8 Second prizes, and 12 Third prizes to the contestants with high achievements at the contest.

The 10th Competition for Excellent Political Teachers in 2023 has been spreading widely to officers and soldiers in the Military Region 5 and creating positive changes in awareness, responsibility and capacity for leadership, direction, organization and management of political education of Party committees and commanders of grassroots agencies and units.
