Despite her husband's explanation, she still did not believe that this was just an accident.
Finding out your partner is unfaithful is one of the most heartbreaking experiences in life.
Whether the truth is revealed by the person involved or by undeniable evidence, accepting it is never easy.
Often, infidelity ends a relationship, because forgiveness is so difficult.
The story was shared on Reddit by a woman who is facing this pain. She and her husband have been married for 25 years, through many ups and downs, including times when she suspected her husband of cheating.
However, their relationship was going great at the moment, and she had no reason to doubt it until she got into the company van her husband had been using for just two weeks.
“Two weeks ago, he started driving a company truck. I rode with him in that truck a few times. One time, when I was about to look in the mirror, I saw a red earring in the car,” she recalled.
Her husband claimed that the earring had been there for a long time, probably from the previous driver, and that a colleague who was in the same car had also seen it a few days earlier. However, she still did not believe this explanation.
She believes that any woman will notice an earring within the first 20 minutes of sitting in a car, especially her husband's car.

The woman suggested that the earring may have been deliberately placed there by a “third person”, as if it was “set up to be discovered”.
She was sure the earring wasn't there the first few times she rode with her husband in this truck, so she had no idea where it came from.
However, Reddit users have come up with another theory: the earring may have been placed in by a co-worker who was riding in the same car as her husband.
Many people shared stories of male coworkers deliberately sabotaging other people's marriages by leaving suspicious objects behind.
"My coworker did the same thing to another guy, and his marriage is no longer the same. He quit his job and I don't give rides to anyone anymore," one commenter said.
Another added: "I once had a co-worker who liked to throw hair ties at other people's cars just to cause trouble."
Others have suggested that the earring could actually have belonged to the previous driver, given that her husband had only used the car for two weeks.
The general advice for women is to try to find more solid evidence before jumping to conclusions about their husband's behavior.
