Mr. Chen (58 years old, a marketing director in Singapore) contacted Shin Min Daily News to file a complaint. He recounted that four years ago, he went to a massage parlor on Sims Avenue to relax after arguing with his wife. There, he met a 44-year-old Chinese massage therapist, and after six months of acquaintance, they developed a romantic relationship.
"Seeing how difficult it was for her to bring her child to Singapore to study alone, and how filial she was for frequently returning to her hometown in Chu Hao, China to visit her mother, I was moved and decided to commit to her," he said.

According to Mr. Chen, the woman later wanted to change careers to become a preschool teacher, and he fully supported this. However, teacher training tuition was as high as $19,000. Mr. Chen helped his mistress pay this amount and also gave her a monthly allowance, in addition to gifts on holidays and special occasions.
"I spent nearly $30,000 on her. After a year and a half of dating, she gradually distanced herself and eventually broke up with me," he revealed. Unwilling to accept this, Mr. Chen demanded his mistress return the money, but she replied, "I charged $300 each time I slept with you, so you figure out how much you should pay."
Mr. Chen said, "I couldn't believe she could say those things. When we were together, we were only really intimate about 10 times."
Chen said his child is in college and therefore he doesn't want to divorce his wife, even though their relationship has broken down.
