Last week, public opinion was stirred by information about the 800,000 VND meal that the athletes of the National Youth Table Tennis Team did not eat enough. In addition, head coach Bui Xuan Ha was accused of collecting some money from the athletes that was not in the rules and regulations. The coach explained to the Department of Sports and Physical Training that this was the money that the athletes asked him to keep for them and would return it at the end of the year.

Currently, Coach Bui Xuan Ha is no longer the head coach of the National Youth Table Tennis Team. The Department of Sports and Physical Training has decided to stop training this expert and appoint another person to replace him.
Deputy Director Nguyen Hong Minh added: " The keeping of money for others appeared after March. According to the report of the head coach, the team had 10 athletes in training, of which 7 athletes were paid into their parents' accounts, 3 athletes were orphans so the money was transferred directly to their personal accounts. During their time with the team, those athletes went online to buy things and were scammed, running out of money in their accounts, so they transferred it to the coach to keep for them."
After receiving feedback on the issue of serving the training work of the national youth table tennis team, the Department of Sports and Physical Training immediately brought the athletes to the National Sports Training Center in Hanoi for activities and training, instead of at the National Sports Complex as before. The Department of Sports and Physical Training continued to verify and clarify the responsibilities of related units for handling, and at the same time expanded the review to other teams.
"After the incident with the table tennis team, we have gathered some information related to other teams. The leaders of the Department of Sports and Physical Training have directed relevant departments to review and grasp the situation. Based on the reports of the units, if similar violations are discovered, they will be strictly handled according to regulations," said Deputy Director Nguyen Hong Minh.
