On February 1, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism issued Official Dispatch No. 203/CDLQGVN-QLLH to replace Official Dispatch No. 196/CDLQGVN-QLLH dated January 31, 2024. The old "10-year-old" official dispatch was sent to the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Departments of Tourism of provinces and cities regarding the change of certificates of deposit for travel service business according to regulations.
The Live fully in Vietnam communication campaign is being implemented.
According to the new document, from January 1, 2024, the deposit for travel services must return to the previous level, no longer reduced by 80% due to difficulties caused by the pandemic. Specifically: the deposit for domestic travel services is VND 100,000,000 (one hundred million VND); travel services for international tourists to Vietnam is VND 250,000,000 (two hundred and fifty million VND); travel services for international tourists to Vietnam and tourists going abroad is VND 500,000,000 (five hundred million VND).
Travel service businesses must go to the deposit receiving bank to pay additional deposit and exchange the Deposit Certificate according to regulations (no need to exchange the travel service business license) and send it to the competent authority that grants travel service business licenses (Vietnam National Administration of Tourism for international travel business licenses and Department of Tourism Management of provinces and cities for domestic travel business licenses) within 30 days from the date of exchange.
Vietnam currently has more than 6,000 licensed travel agencies, including about 4,200 international travel agencies. All of these agencies must make a deposit in a bank to be allowed to operate a travel agency business…
