As one of the key projects in completing the traffic infrastructure connecting the Yen Tu historical relic and scenic spot in particular, and developing the socio-economic situation of Uong Bi city in general, the Yen Tu road project extending from National Highway 18 to National Highway 10 and the 10-lane road is being urgently constructed by the investor and contractors.

The project has a route length of over 2km, starting with National Highway 18, and ending with the intersection between National Highway 10 and the riverside route from Ha Long - Hai Phong Expressway to Dong Trieu Town. With a total investment of nearly 290 billion VND from the provincial budget and Uong Bi City, the route is designed with 6 lanes and 2 parking lanes on both sides, along with a sidewalk system, a green tree system, lighting, etc. Deployed from the end of 2023, the sections that have been handed over the site are basically on schedule. In particular, the intersection section at the beginning of the route has been paved with asphalt, the remaining sections have completed the roadbed and are preparing to construct the crushed stone layer.

Mr. Vu Hai Nam, Site Manager, Quang Thao Construction Joint Stock Company, said: As soon as the unit receives the site, the contractors mobilize human resources and equipment to immediately organize the construction. In which, they construct the roadbed and construct items on the route such as drainage system, sidewalks, lighting, at the same time striving to ensure the fastest progress of the project.
After the source of the filled soil was removed and resolved promptly, the biggest difficulty in implementing the project is related to the site clearance work of more than 400m in the middle of the route. Uong Bi City is mobilizing the entire political system to propagate and persuade 16 households to agree with the compensation plan for site clearance and dismantling the construction on the land. Up to now, 12 households have received compensation money to urgently dismantle the construction to hand over the site to the construction unit to complete the project on schedule.

Mr. Vu Tien Dung, Deputy Director of the Uong Bi City Construction Project Management Board, affirmed: With the city's strong direction in site clearance work, the coordination of functional departments, wards, communes, and investors has created favorable conditions for the project to be implemented continuously. The city strives to complete site clearance work by the end of July. The Project Management Board of the works requires contractors to supplement human resources, equipment, and speed up construction; committed to completing the project as planned in October 2024.

The completion of the Yen Tu extended road project not only completes the zoning planning infrastructure but also creates a new gateway connecting the Yen Tu historical relic and scenic area with the Ha Long - Hai Phong expressway and National Highway 10. Thereby, shortening the travel time between the provinces in the region to the Yen Tu historical relic and scenic area.
