Many voters in Binh Phu commune expressed concern about Thang Binh choosing to build a centralized waste treatment area in Duc An village of the commune. Voter Truong Duoc (Duc An village) said that the villagers agreed in principle but did not agree with the construction location because Duc An village has Do and Vong holes (water sources), if the waste treatment area is located here, it will affect the people's water source in the long term.

Sharing the same view, voter Nguyen Minh Hung (Phuoc Ha village, Binh Phu commune) said that Duc An village is the source, has a revolutionary base, tourist area..., so it is not appropriate to use it as a garbage dump for the whole district, and suggested choosing another suitable location. Voters suggested that the garbage treatment area should be built in many communes, not concentrated in one commune, Binh Phu.

Explaining the opinions of voters of Binh Phu commune, Mr. Truong Cong Son - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thang Binh district said that before choosing the location to build a centralized waste treatment area in Binh Phu commune, the district and functional agencies had surveyed, consulted, and assessed environmental impacts many times.

According to Mr. Son, if the waste treatment area is divided into many communes, it will not ensure the planning. The centralized waste treatment area located in Binh Phu commune will only be used when there is an incident at the province's waste treatment site, it is not the waste treatment location for the whole province, so he hopes that voters will agree and share.

Provincial People's Council delegates have received and explained opinions within their authority; opinions beyond their authority will be recorded, compiled and sent to competent agencies for consideration and response to voters in the coming time.
