This morning, July 8, in Hanoi, the Central Internal Affairs Committee held an online conference to review the first 6 months of the year's activities of the Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Negativity in provinces and centrally run cities. In the first 6 months of 2024, the work of the Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Negativity has had many positive and clear changes. Attention has been paid to directing and strengthening inspection and supervision work, especially focusing on directing and handling party organizations and party members when there are signs of violations.
The Steering Committees directly inspect and supervise many topics, fields and areas prone to corruption and negativity. The supervisory role of the People's Council and the supervision and social criticism of the Fatherland Front at all levels have been well promoted. Many corruption and negativity cases have been directed, detected and strictly handled, especially complicated and prolonged cases. New, serious and complicated cases and incidents related to violations that occurred in previous years and newly arising violations have been detected, prosecuted, investigated and strictly handled.
The coordination between the steering committees and local authorities in preventing and combating corruption and negativity is increasingly close and effective. The provincial steering committees operate more systematically and effectively, affirming their important role in leading and directing the work of preventing and combating corruption and negativity at the local level. The internal affairs committees of the provincial and municipal Party Committees continue to promote their roles and positions well...
At the conference, in addition to clarifying the achieved results, delegates pointed out the shortcomings and limitations in the activities of the Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Negativity in the first 6 months of 2024.
Accordingly, the activities of some steering committees are sometimes not systematic and systematic. Although the work of requesting appraisal and valuation of assets has been given attention and direction, the implementation is sometimes slow. The leadership and direction of implementing solutions to prevent corruption and negativity have not been given due attention.
Although the inspection and direction work of the provincial steering committee has received attention, it is still limited. Speaking at the conference, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee Ly Kieu Van said that in recent times, Quang Tri province has implemented many solutions to prevent and combat corruption and negativity. In particular, integrity education for cadres and party members is identified as one of the key, fundamental, long-term tasks and solutions, contributing to preventing and stopping corruption and negativity at its roots.

The Provincial Party Standing Committee and the Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption always pay attention to and direct the implementation of key tasks such as: raising the sense of self-awareness, self-cultivation and training of cadres, civil servants and public employees; promoting the exemplary role of cadres and party members, especially heads of agencies and units; continuing to pay attention to doing a good job of cadre work; tightening discipline, strengthening inspection, examination and supervision in practicing integrity; promoting the role and responsibility of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, media agencies, press... The above efforts have contributed to bringing about many encouraging results.

Regarding the tasks for the last 6 months of 2024, the Central Internal Affairs Committee requested that provincial-level Steering Committees for anti-corruption and anti-negativity continue to advise, direct the organization, deployment, and effective implementation of the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws on anti-corruption and anti-negativity.
Directing the promotion of propaganda and education on corruption prevention and combat, building a culture of integrity and improving the effectiveness of corruption prevention and combat. Provincial Steering Committees for Corruption Prevention and Combat need to direct the strengthening of inspection, supervision, investigation, and complaint and denunciation settlement.

Concluding the conference, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission Phan Dinh Trac highly appreciated and commended the Steering Committees for anti-corruption and anti-negativity in provinces and centrally-run cities for their efforts in removing difficulties and obstacles in work and directing and implementing quite comprehensively the assigned tasks.
This effort has brought about many important results, creating increasingly more substantial and effective changes in the work of preventing and combating negativity and corruption at the local and grassroots levels. The Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission also frankly pointed out a number of shortcomings and limitations and requested that they be promptly overcome.
Regarding the tasks in the coming time, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission Phan Dinh Trac requested to continue to direct the dissemination, deployment and effective implementation of the Politburo's regulations on controlling power, preventing and combating corruption, negativity and regulations on revolutionary ethical standards of cadres and party members in the new period.
