According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, in the first six months of the year, the province produced 32.582 million seedlings of various types for reforestation and scattered tree planting, an increase of 0.5% compared to the same period last year. Of these, 88% of the seedlings were produced using tissue culture and cuttings, an increase of 14% compared to the same period. Currently, localities are continuing to plant trees and reforest.

Thanks to proactively securing seedling sources, reforestation and forest development efforts have yielded high results. In the first six months of the year, the province planted an estimated 5,455 hectares of concentrated forest, reaching 103.6% compared to the same period last year and 71.8% of the annual plan. Forest maintenance covered 10,860 hectares, achieving 60.8% of the plan; timber harvesting reached 480 m³, equivalent to 116.1% compared to the same period last year. The value of forestry production at current prices is estimated at 1,036 billion VND, reaching 100.8% compared to the same period last year and 59.2% of the annual plan.

In addition, the organization manages and protects over 160,000 hectares of forest, especially the existing natural forest area in the province. Inspection, control, and prevention of violations in the forestry sector continue to be strengthened.

To achieve and surpass the planned targets, the Department of Agriculture will continue to strengthen leadership and guidance in forest management, protection, and development; enhance guidance on forest fire prevention and control, forest warning information; and inspect, control, and promptly prevent illegal logging and forest fires.

At the same time, encourage businesses and households to invest in intensive large-timber forest planting; implement linkages in forestry production along the value chain from planting, caring, harvesting, processing and consuming plantation timber products. Complete the planting of 8,000 hectares of concentrated forest, plant 6.1 million scattered trees, and harvest 1 million cubic meters of various types of timber from planted forests.
