According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, in the first 6 months of the year, the whole province produced 32.582 million seedlings of all kinds for afforestation and scattered tree planting, an increase of 0.5% over the same period. Of which, 88% of the seedlings were produced by tissue culture and cuttings, an increase of 14% over the same period. Currently, localities are continuing to plant trees and forests.
Thanks to the proactive source of seedlings, the work of planting new trees and developing forests has achieved high results. It is estimated that in the first 6 months of the year, the whole province planted 5,455 hectares of concentrated forests, equal to 103.6% compared to the same period and reaching 71.8% of the yearly plan. Forest care was done on 10,860 hectares, reaching 60.8% of the plan; the output of exploited wood was 480 m3, equal to 116.1% compared to the same period. The value of forestry production at current prices is estimated at 1,036 billion VND, equal to 100.8% compared to the same period and equal to 59.2% of the yearly plan.
In addition, the organization manages and protects over 160,000 hectares of forest, especially the existing natural forest area in the province. The work of inspection, control and prevention of violations in the forestry sector continues to be strengthened.
In order to implement and exceed the plan, in the coming time, the Department of Agriculture will continue to strengthen leadership and direction in forest management, protection and development; strengthen direction in forest fire prevention and fighting, forest warning information; inspect, control, and promptly prevent deforestation and forest burning.
At the same time, encourage businesses and households to invest in large-scale intensive forest planting; implement linkages in forestry production according to the value chain from planting, caring, exploiting, processing and consuming forest wood products. Complete concentrated forest planting of 8,000 hectares, plant 6.1 million scattered trees, exploit planted forests reaching 1 million m3 of wood of all kinds.
