Provincial Civil Servants' Union opens 7-a-side men's football tournament | QUANG NAM ONLINE NEWSPAPER

(QNO) - On the afternoon of June 9, the Quang Nam Provincial Civil Servants' Union opened the 7-a-side men's football tournament for cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers of the province (competing for the Phu Long Cup).

Mr. Tran Quoc Bao - Chairman of the Provincial Civil Servants' Union said that the tournament had 8 teams with 120 athletes from 4 grassroots unions representing more than 55 grassroots unions. The teams were divided into 2 groups, competing in a round robin to select the 2 teams with the best results in each group to enter the semi-finals. The final match took place at 4:30 p.m. on June 14.

The tournament is an activity to welcome the congresses of trade unions at all levels towards the 7th Provincial Civil Servants' Trade Union Congress, the 17th Provincial Trade Union Congress (term 2023 - 2028) and to celebrate the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union. At the same time, it promotes the movement of physical training and sports, improving health among cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers in the province.

The tournament will also select a typical team to participate in the football tournament organized by the Provincial Federation of Labor in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in August 2023.
