Announcing the Top 500 Employers and 10 Best Places to Work in Vietnam

On the afternoon of December 8, Dau Tu Newspaper in collaboration with Vietnam Business Research Joint Stock Company (Viet Research) organized the Ceremony to announce and honor the Top 500 Leading Employers in Vietnam 2023, Top 10 Best Workplaces in Vietnam 2023 and Launch the Product of the Year 2023 and 2024 program (Product of the year 2023 - 2024).

Following the success of the 2022 Program, this is the second consecutive year that the Top 500 Vietnam Employers 2023 (VBE500) and Top 10 Vietnam Best Workplaces 2023 (VBW10) have been researched and announced by Viet Research.

This is an annual nationwide research program to recognize and honor the efforts and outstanding results of businesses in creating jobs, treating employees well, and having creative business solutions to overcome the economic fluctuations.

The program has political and social significance to raise awareness of the community, businesses and employees about the image, reputation as well as the importance of using and developing human resources, building corporate culture and attracting talented human resources through communication of the Top Employer Brand in Vietnam.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Truong Minh Tien, Director of Viet Research, said that in the past 11 months, the Vietnamese labor market has seen significant improvements. In addition to some industries that were negatively affected, many industries still had an increase in industrial production index; total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue also increased. Thanks to the growth rate in some industries, it has helped to solve employment for workers and stabilize their lives in recent times. In addition, the number of newly established and returning businesses is also higher than the number of businesses withdrawing from the market, thereby contributing to creating more jobs for workers.

"Enterprises in the Top 500 Vietnamese Employers in 2023 - VBE500 and Top 10 Best Workplaces in Vietnam in 2023 (VBW10) continue to demonstrate their role and position as strong, excellent brands in recruitment activities, job creation, contributing to the stabilization of the labor market nationwide. Enterprises stand out in recruitment, attracting high-quality human resources in the country's key industries, encouraging diversity, promoting creative thinking and nurturing the next generation of talented workers," Mr. Tien affirmed.

In addition, to honor creative activities and promote effective business, to raise awareness of the community and businesses about the importance of innovation and reform in the new economic period, the Organizing Committee also launched the Product of the year 2023 and 2024 program (Product of the year 2023 - 2024) and Honoring businesses with innovative and effective products of 2023.

Enterprises that have won the title of “Product of the Year – Effective creative products and services of 2023” have innovated, created, and innovated to adapt by focusing more on developing product portfolios with suitable features to meet the increasing demands of consumers. At the same time, they have quickly applied technology in research, production, and communication about brands and products. Along with that, they have promoted authenticity and transparency in business to bring benefits to consumers. Enterprises have shifted from a “response” state during the pandemic to a “leading” state to create the premise for breakthroughs and differences.

The title “Product of the Year – Creative and effective products and services of 2023” represents recognition of businesses that have been investing heavily in research and development (R&D), applying science and technology to improve product quality, services, production – business and sales processes to maximize the benefits of customers, shareholders and partners.

Also within the framework of the event, a Human Resources Workshop took place with the theme of the Future of the Labor Market and New Work Environment Trends with the participation of experts in the fields of human resources, training, branding, and communications from international organizations, prestigious research organizations, and government agencies, along with leaders of businesses in the Top 500 Leading Employers in Vietnam (VBE500), Top 10 Best Workplaces in Vietnam in key economic sectors (VBW10).

According to experts, the Vietnamese labor market is continuing its impressive recovery. The results of a quick survey of businesses in the Top 500 Leading Employers in Vietnam and the Top 10 Best Places to Work in Vietnam by Industry in 2023 show that in addition to focusing on creating a good working environment, especially paying special attention to the importance of salary for employees, businesses have continuously strived to compete by building a prestigious employer brand image, building culture, accumulating core values ​​for the business, especially creating many promotion opportunities for employees.

Speaking at the Workshop, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Minh Khuong – Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore – shares experiences in investing in high-quality human resources in the digital age with practical lessons from Singapore.

Dr. Vo Tri Thanh – Director of the Institute for Brand and Competitiveness Strategy – analyzed the development trends of the Vietnamese labor market and suggested ways to improve the competitiveness of Vietnamese enterprises based on the development of a comprehensive workforce. From the perspective of an international educational organization, Dr. Phung Van Dong – Director in Vietnam of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) – shared solutions to narrow the gap between high-quality human resource training and market demand.

In addition, at the Workshop, Mr. William Badger - Chairman of the Human Resources and Training Subcommittee, European Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EuroCham) - also provided perspectives on the potential of the labor market in Vietnam and suggestions for Vietnamese businesses to improve the skills of workers to meet new market needs after the pandemic.

Experts and speakers all agreed that, in the context of an increasingly developing knowledge-based economy, high-quality human resources increasingly demonstrate their role and are a key factor in increasing competitiveness and enhancing the prosperity of each country.

“Talent, not capital, will be the key factor linking innovation, competitiveness and growth in the 21st century”, equipment, factories or financial capital are no longer the most important assets of each business, instead, intangible resources such as knowledge, skills, and relationships become the leading competitive advantages.

If businesses know how to take advantage of this, they will become a "magnet" to attract quality human resources, ensuring sustainable and long-term development, as well as quickly adapting to unpredictable fluctuations of the economy.
