Speaking at the announcement ceremony, VCCI Chairman and Head of the CSI 2024 Steering Committee Pham Tan Cong emphasized that in order to seize new opportunities, in addition to making breakthroughs in development institutions and removing bottlenecks and barriers, the business community also needs to make breakthroughs in transforming strategic business thinking, promoting internal strength, proactively innovating to transform practices into humane, creative, and sustainable business models that contribute to the progress, prosperity of society and happiness of the people.
VCCI's survey results of enterprises that have won the CSI title over the past decade have proven that persistently implementing a sustainable production and business model can increase resilience, adapt to challenges and seize opportunities that are opening up from the green transformation and digital transformation of enterprises.
Top 10 sustainable businesses in the manufacturing sector.
In 2024, the CSI Program attracted nearly 500 enterprises nationwide, from different types and sizes of enterprises to submit applications. Of which, the rate of domestic enterprises and new enterprises participating for the first time increased significantly compared to the past 3 years, at 62% and 35% respectively.
"This figure shows that the level of interest in sustainable development of domestic enterprises has improved significantly. This is a positive signal reflecting the change in awareness and action of Vietnamese enterprises towards transformation and sustainable business practices," said Mr. Cong.
The CSI 2024 announcement ceremony honored 100 outstanding sustainable enterprises in both the manufacturing and trade-service sectors. Of which, the Top 10 Sustainable Enterprises in these two sectors recorded a ratio of 50% domestic enterprises and 50% foreign-invested enterprises.
"This shows that domestic enterprises have made great progress and the sustainable development game is no longer just for FDI enterprises with good governance foundations. In addition to praising the main category of Sustainable Enterprises, the program also evaluates and selects pioneering enterprises that perform well in two thematic categories: Implementing the circular economy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and building and implementing diverse, equitable and inclusive values," Mr. Pham Tan Cong emphasized.
