BTO-The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just issued a plan to organize the Kate Festival at the Po Sah Inư tower relic in 2024.
The Kate Festival will take place from October 1-2, 2024, at the Po Sah Inư tower relic, including the ceremony and the festival. In which, the ceremony rituals are performed by Cham Bani and Cham Brahman religious dignitaries of Ham Thuan Bac district, such as the peace-praying ritual at the main tower, the dance ritual, and the invitation of the gods. On the main festival day of October 2 (the 1st day of the 7th month of the Cham calendar), there will be a ceremony to welcome the Po Sah Inư Goddess costume to the main tower, open the tower door, bathe the Linga - Yoni altar, wear the Linga - Yoni altar costume and a grand ceremony to thank the Po Sah Inư Goddess, the gods and grandparents, ancestors. In particular, there is also the announcement of the Prime Minister's decision on the recognition of national treasures - the 12th batch, 2023 for the golden Linga discovered at Po Dam tower (Phu Lac commune, Tuy Phong district).
The festival includes exciting activities taking place on the main stage such as the Saranai trumpet blowing contest and the water team overcoming obstacles; decorating offerings on Thonla and Co Bong to worship Goddess Po Sah Inư. The folk art exchange program is performed by the Cham folk art troupe from Tuy Phong, Bac Binh, Ham Thuan Bac, Ham Thuan Nam, Ham Tan, Tanh Linh districts and the Bien Xanh Music and Dance Theater to serve the people and tourists.
Kate Festival is organized in accordance with traditional customs, with the participation of many Cham people from 6 districts in the province. This is a program to preserve and promote sustainable folk cultural values, meeting the needs of religious and belief activities of the Cham community. From there, Kate Festival gradually becomes a unique and attractive tourism product that attracts people, domestic and foreign tourists, promoting the socio-economic development of the province.
