Michael Jackson's son conflicts with his grandmother

Bigi Jackson, 22, asked the court to prevent Katherine Jackson, 93, from taking money from Michael Jackson to pay for a personal lawsuit.

According to TMZ , Bigi (nicknamed Blanket) and her grandmother filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court to block the estate of Michael Jackson from making any business transactions with the late artist's estate. The site claimed that it could be a deal to sell half of the artist's music catalog - related to the artist's song publishing rights - for $600 million to Sony. The court rejected both requests.

However, Mrs. Katherine continues to appeal. Blanket believes that the two have little chance of winning the case, so he does not want to spend money on expensive legal fees, according to the Daily Mail . Blanket also does not agree with his grandmother using money from Michael Jackson's estate - of which he is an heir - to pay.

On March 22, on TMZ , Michael's estate said that Katherine has received a total of $55 million since Michael Jackson's death in 2009. On the other hand, Blanket's attorney wants the court to rule that she be reimbursed for her attorney fees from the original lawsuit.

According to the Daily Mail , previously, estate executors John Branca and John McClain wanted the court to approve the plan to sell off Michael Jackson's assets in 2022. This caused Katherine to object, demanding that the two pay more than $500,000 for legal disputes, and use the money to pay court fees. Branca and McClain filed a petition with the Los Angeles (USA) court to reject Katherine's petition.

Bigi Jackson, 22, the youngest child of the "King of Pop", has an unknown biological mother. Before Blanket, there was Michale Joseph Jackson Jr. (also known as Prince), 27, and Paris Jackson, 25. Both are Blanket's half-siblings. He pursued a career in filmmaking, winning an award at the 2024 Santa Monica Film Festival for his short film Rochelles .
