Initially, when she was admitted to a famous specialized school in Ho Chi Minh City, Bich Ngoc only wanted to focus on studying well in all subjects, especially those used for university admission, and did not set a goal for the excellent student exam. She wanted to make a mark in high school with a subject that she had a lot of passion for and had pursued for a long time - literature. Therefore, during the summer months, Bich Ngoc spent time reading more books, focusing on learning and researching books and documents, preparing for the city-level excellent student exam in specialized subjects and selecting candidates for the national competition team in September 2023. "I was also very surprised when I was selected for the team. As of the national excellent student exam on January 5, 2024, I had more than 3 months to review with teachers and friends. A few days ago, when I came home from school and heard that I won third prize, I immediately told my mother and cried. I am extremely grateful to the teachers at Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted and the teachers who trained the team. The teachers always encouraged and cared for me, giving me the feeling that I was never alone on this journey," Bich Ngoc shared.

"My mother used to sell bean pudding in an alley in Go Vap District, near where my family is renting. My father is a bricklayer. I still remember when I was little, I loved watching fairy tale movies. Every day, my father took me to buy fairy tale DVDs to watch. Maybe my love of literature was born from those fairy tale movies," Bich Ngoc confided. The national excellent student literature exam on January 5, 2024 was assessed as difficult and quite good, requiring the real ability of the candidates.
