Vietnamese player makes history, despite not reaching world finals

In the quarter-final match of the 2024 Women's 3-Cushion Carom Billiards World Championship held on September 11, Nguyen Hoang Yen Nhi created an incredible comeback and won 30-29 against Jackeline Perez (Peru). In the semi-final, the Vietnamese player faced Charlotte Soerensen (Denmark).

Charlotte Soerensen is in great form at this tournament. In the quarter-finals, the Danish player defeated the very strong Korean player Park Jeong-hyun (who is considered a strong candidate for the championship).

Nguyen Hoang Yen Nhi sets milestone for Vietnamese 3-cushion carom billiards

Soerensen continued to show her brilliance in her match with Nguyen Hoang Yen Nhi. The Danish player took the advantage from the start of the match and created a large gap. Soerensen handled the long shots very firmly and rarely missed the "side". Yen Nhi was always 5 to 10 points behind her opponent. Although there were times when Soerensen could no longer maintain the scoring streak, the Vietnamese player could not take advantage of the opportunity to create a breakthrough.

In the final rounds, Soerensen played with more and more excitement and went straight to the finish line. In the end, the Danish player won 30-15 against Yen Nhi, thereby winning the right to play in the final match of the 2024 Women's 3-Cushion Carom Billiards World Championship.
