Flags have been flown at half-mast in front of the Provincial Party Committee's office since Sunday, May 21.
According to the special announcement on the funeral of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the national mourning period will last for two days, July 25 and 26. However, to express sincere condolences to the beloved General Secretary, even though it was the weekend, some units and enterprises in Hai Duong flew flags at half-mast from July 20 and 21. On May 22, the first working day of the week, many more agencies, units and enterprises flew flags at half-mast to show respect and condolences to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

Hai Duong City Martyrs' Monument flies flags at half-mast to commemorate the heroic martyrs and General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. All three flagpoles in the Thong Nhat Square area are flying flags at half-mast. Local government headquarters flew flags at half-mast on the morning of July 22. Many agencies and units in Hai Duong City proactively lowered flags early to commemorate General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
