Established in 1999, with an area of 106.8 hectares, of which 36 hectares of cajuput are the central area, where birds of prey are attracted. The surrounding buffer zone has an area of 1,800 hectares, also mainly cajuput forest.
Dong Thap Muoi Nature Reserve (Thanh Tan Commune, Tan Phuoc District, Tien Giang Province) is known not only for its diverse ecosystem, but also for preserving many rich and rare species of flora and fauna.

Currently, the Reserve has a herd of wild animals estimated at about 10 thousand, including birds, fish, animals... On average, each year, there are about 1,000 more birds and animals breeding here and being attracted from other places, the most common are storks, storks, herons, and ibises... The Reserve has been recreated as a primeval forest, with a large area and is considered the most beautiful in the Dong Thap Muoi region.
Dong Thap Muoi Nature Reserve has also successfully bred and hatched many animal species in captivity: golden mountain turtles, mangroves, porcupines, wild boars, and crocodiles.
From a pure Conservation Area, Dong Thap Muoi has become an extremely unique tourist area due to the strict protection of the Forest Management Board and investors. The flora and fauna ecosystem is conserved for biodiversity as a product of scientific research, environmental education, community livelihood development, contributing to rapid, green, and sustainable economic development.
New look elevates status
For nearly a year, Dong Thap Muoi Ecological Reserve has been leased 10,765 m2 of forest by Dong Thap Tourism Joint Stock Company (Dong Thap Tourist), a member of Sao Mai Group, for tourism. With careful investment and conservation responsibility, this place has become a unique Dong Thap Muoi Ecological Reserve. A new vitality is emerging here, thriving, no longer desolate and quiet.

Building a “Pigeon City” right at the edge of the forest brings many benefits in terms of biodiversity and creating more tourist landscapes. Pigeons - a bird symbolizing peace, friendliness, cuteness, hospitality and intelligence.
