Who is Viktor Le?
The 2024-2025 V-League season has seen many surprises, including the emergence of Ha Tinh Club. The team just had a crisis season and had to play a play-off match to stay in the V-League, but has almost "transformed". Coach Nguyen Thanh Cong and his team are still undefeated after 11 matches, ranking 5th with 17 points. It is worth mentioning that Ha Tinh Club has almost no stars, the squad is only average. The success of this team comes from recruiting a number of suitable players and the old players have also improved. And one of them is midfielder Viktor Le.
This player, whose father is Vietnamese and mother is Russian, was born on November 10, 2003 in Russia. He is 1.78 m tall and used to play for Binh Dinh Club. He helped CSKA Moscow's youth team win the Russian U19 National Championship and caught the eye of AC Milan scouts. However, he refused the offer from Europe's most traditional football team and returned to Vietnam to play football. In January 2025, he officially obtained Vietnamese nationality, opening up the opportunity to wear the red shirt with yellow star at all levels of the Vietnamese national team.

Last season, when he first joined Ha Tinh Club, the Russian-born player did not play very well, playing 14 matches, including 6 starts. But over time, he gradually integrated with his new teammates, new playing style and was given more opportunities. This season, Viktor Le has played 345 minutes, about 58% of the playing time last season and he still has 15 more rounds to improve his performance.
In the 4-1-4-1 formation that coach Nguyen Thanh Cong is applying, Viktor Le is often placed in the role of a shuttle midfielder with Luong Xuan Truong and these two players play above the blocking midfielder Dang Van Tram. This arrangement helps Viktor Le promote many strengths in his playing style such as: technique, creative ability, intelligence, modern football thinking as well as the ability to penetrate the opponent's penalty area to finish. This season, he scored his first goal in the V-League with a close-range header to help Ha Tinh Club defeat HAGL in round 8.
Coach Nguyen Thanh Cong assessed that Viktor Le has a lot of potential to develop and has made a lot of progress compared to the period when he first joined Ha Tinh Club. He hopes that his student can be in the "sights" of Coach Kim Sang-sik so that he can join the U.22 Vietnam team and participate in the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand.
If that opportunity comes to Viktor Le, he will face fierce competition from many talented central midfielders, such as Nguyen Thai Son (Thanh Hoa Club), Tran Nam Hai, Dinh Xuan Tien (SLNA), Nguyen Van Truong (Hanoi Club), Nguyen Duc Phu (PVF-CAND Club), Nguyen Cong Phuong (Viettel The Cong Club). These are all players who have experience playing for Vietnam's youth teams and have connections with the group of players in the age group participating in the upcoming 33rd SEA Games. Therefore, to be called up and further to occupy an official position in the Vietnam U.22 team, Viktor Le needs to make more efforts.
