On the morning of the second day of the Lunar New Year, in Dien Bien Dong town (Dien Bien Dong district), the Giap Thin Spring Festival 2024 took place. In the bustling sound of the opening drum, young men and women wearing colorful traditional costumes from all over gathered to enjoy the festival; tourists from all over the country also eagerly went out to enjoy the spring and the festival. This year's Spring Festival has many exciting activities imbued with local culture, such as: Ethnic costume performance, Mong flute performance, Chung cake wrapping, and Giay cake pounding; space to display the culture of ethnic groups; space to take souvenir photos of tourists; exchange of singing, dancing, music, folk songs, and folk dances; bullfighting; exchange of traditional sports , folk games...

The Giap Thin Spring Festival 2024 in Dien Bien Dong district takes place from the 2nd to the 5th day of Tet.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tang, Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Dong District People's Committee, said: The District People's Committee has developed a specific and meticulous plan very early; focusing on propaganda and promotion on mass media, social networking sites... The official fanpage of Dien Bien Dong District has attracted over 2.7 million interactions about activities from the first day of preparation to the closing of the spring festival. During the 4 days (from the 2nd to the 5th day of Tet), the festival attracted an average of 70,000 people and tourists to visit and participate in festival activities each day. Especially on the 3rd day of Tet, Dien Bien Dong District welcomed over 90,000 visitors. Of which, there were 100 foreign visitors coming to visit and experience the activities at Dien Bien Dong Spring Festival. The 2024 Spring Festival is considered the most successful spring festival of Dien Bien Dong District so far.

Over the years, bullfighting has been an impressive highlight, most anticipated by locals and tourists throughout the festival. This year, Dien Bien Dong district has stepped up propaganda and promotion, so the number of units participating in the bullfighting festival is no longer limited to the district. Some districts such as Dien Bien, Muong Ang, Song Ma, Sop Cop (Son La province) have also registered to participate. Thanks to that, the competition has attracted a large number of tourists from neighboring districts and provinces. According to statistics from Dien Bien Dong district, the bullfighting competition has had over 40,000 people participating in direct cheering.

The bull fighting competition is the most impressive highlight, most anticipated by locals and tourists throughout the festival program.

Although I have participated in many spring festivals in many localities, I still feel that the spring festival here has many unique features. Huoi Leng commune was chosen as the venue for the 2024 Giap Thin spring festival involving the communes of Sa Long, Huoi Leng, Sa Tong and Hua Ngai of Muong Cha district. On the morning of the 4th day of the Lunar New Year, a large number of people from the communes and tourists from inside and outside the district gathered at the festival venue to participate in and experience the spring activities. The spring festival has many folk games of the Mong ethnic group, such as: Pao throwing, tu lu fighting, crossbow shooting, stick pushing, tug of war and special cultural exchange performances. Every activity attracts a large number of participants.

People in the highland communes of Muong Cha district excitedly went to the Spring Festival held in Huoi Leng commune.
