"I feel very proud and happy. Because this is the first time Vietnam has won a gold medal in the World Super Memory Competition and also the first time the Vietnamese team has set a world record. My dream of 3 years has officially come true. The moment my name was called on the podium to receive the gold medal. Then the national flag flew and the two words Vietnam were shouted loudly in the hall during the final night must be an unforgettable moment, it will always live in my heart", Phuong Trinh shared with Thanh Nien reporter. Phuong Trinh said that to achieve this feat, she had worked hard and practiced diligently for 3 years. "I started my training journey to win a gold medal at the World Super Memory Competition in early 2020. The competition format has 10 subjects. Initially, I practiced all of them to learn and discover my strengths. Then I realized that I had an outstanding talent in random image memory, so from around the end of 2022, I prioritized spending a lot of time practicing this subject," she recalled. According to this young talent from Lam Dong, during the training process, there were periods when I did not achieve high scores. "The score will stagnate or even drop. So sometimes during the training journey, I feel doubtful of myself, or wonder if I can do well and get a really high score? Luckily, during that period, I received the companionship and support of Mr. Nguyen Phung Phong, head coach of the Vietnam Super Memory team. He gave me a lot of useful advice to help me overcome difficult moments. I also shared that during the training process in Vietnam, I had many times achieved scores higher than the world record. So before entering the challenge at the World Super Brain 2023, I had faith that I would win. And that belief came true, when I surpassed many players who had been practicing for many years, with a lot of experience, such as members of the German and Mongolian teams," Phuong Trinh said. When asked why she has a passion for memory subjects, Phuong Trinh shared that she happened to watch the international version of the Super Brain program. "There were many good competitions in that program. And I was most impressed with the memory competition of Alex Mullen (3-time World Super Memory Champion in 2015, 2016, 2017 - PV). So I was inspired by him and from there I embarked on a journey of memory training", the 23-year-old girl said. Talking about the secret to memory training, Phuong Trinh said that she has applied many different memorization methods suitable for each situation. In particular, she regularly reads books and documents about memory both domestically and internationally. At the same time, she often has the habit of watching instructional videos about memory training on the internet, as well as listening to the experiences of many world record holders. Then, she perseveres and makes an effort to practice on her own.

Sharing her plans for the future, the girl said she will continue her role as a lecturer in learning methods at the Tam Tri Luc Academy (a training center for learning and working skills, providing scientific methods of the brain in Ho Chi Minh City - PV). At the same time, she hopes to build and develop a Vietnamese super memory team so that young people can reach far, fly high, and achieve more success at the World Super Memory Competition. Thereby, the world intellectual sports map will have more wonderful milestones proudly planted by young Vietnamese people. "In addition, I also want to spread the memorization methods that I have learned and the experience I have gained to students. The purpose is to help you feel that studying is easier and that you have an easier way to memorize. I also hope that everyone, regardless of age, should learn about memory because it can help with many things in studying, working, and living...", the girl who just shone at the World Super Memory Competition confided. It should also be added that Phuong Trinh is the Vietnamese record holder . Previously, at the 2019 Vietnam Super Memory Competition, she won the Gold Medal Champion title, with a total score of 3,326 in 10 subjects. Phuong Trinh was also the "best player" of the competition when she set 5 national records. Specifically, including: the person who listened and remembered the most numbers (spoken number); the person who remembered the most historical events in 5 minutes (historic dates); The person who remembers the most names and faces in 5 minutes (names and faces); the person who remembers the most binary numbers in 5 minutes (binary numbers); the person who remembers the most random numbers in 15 minutes (numbers). According to the Vietnam Record Organization, this is unprecedented in 15 years of setting records in Vietnam. An interesting detail is that at the 2023 World Super Memory Competition, the Vietnamese team participated in the "remembering random images" competition with 2 members, Phuong Trinh and Dang Thu Hien (24 years old, Phuong Trinh's sister). For the past 4 years, Phuong Trinh and Thu Hien have been members of the Vietnamese memory team. Both are known as "Vietnamese memory superstars" when they have won many awards. Phuong Trinh was the champion and Thu Hien was the 2nd runner-up of the 1st Vietnam Super Memory Competition (Vietnam Memory Championships 2019). After that, the two talented sisters represented Vietnam at the 2019 Asian Memory Championship in Malaysia and the 2019 World Memory Championship in China...
The World Memory Championship (English name is World Memory Championship, founded by Professor Tony Buzan, British, since 1991). The 2023 World Memory Championship alone attracted 779 contestants from many countries and territories around the world. Among them are experienced players from Denmark, Germany, Japan, India, Mongolia... Phuong Trinh won the gold medal in "random image memory". The silver medal went to the Azerbaijani player and the bronze medal went to the Mongolian player.
