On the afternoon of July 16, information from Tan Thanh District Police (Long An) said that they are coordinating with the Criminal Police Department of Long An Provincial Police and Thap Muoi District Police (Dong Thap) to investigate a brutal robbery that just occurred on National Highway N2, the section bordering the two provinces.

According to initial information, at around 1:00 a.m. on July 15, Ms. NTT drove her motorbike alone from Binh Duong to Kien Giang to attend a relative's funeral. Ms. T was traveling on National Highway N2 from Tan Thanh District to Thap Muoi District, when she reached the section in Tan Kieu Commune (Thap Muoi District) and was attacked, causing scratches on her face, arms, legs...

According to the girl's report, the victim was suddenly overtaken by two young men on a motorbike from behind and knocked down Ms. T. The two robbers used an object that looked like a gun to control and rob the victim of her belongings including: a silver necklace, a cell phone and 1 million VND, then escaped towards Tan Thanh district.

Ms. T drove the car about 300 meters across the Ba Canal bridge to a resident's house to bandage her wound, then reported to the Thap Muoi District Police.

Previously, a nearly 3-minute clip was posted on social media, recording the image of a girl pushing a cart to a coffee shop on the side of National Highway N2, asking for help with many injuries on her body. She cried and said that she was on her way home to attend a relative's funeral when she was robbed.

" I begged for mercy, but when I went home, they threatened, 'I'll shoot you too'" - the girl said in the clip.

Outraged by the incident, the shop owner recorded the girl's image and posted it on social media with the aim of warning passersby to be cautious when traveling on the above route.

Thap Muoi District Police have sent detectives to coordinate with Tan Thanh District Police (Long An Province) to directly work with the victims and conduct investigations and pursue the perpetrators of recent robberies on National Highway N2.

The police also invited people to work with those who made distorted and incorrect comments, causing confusion in public opinion.

Police advise road users not to stop or park in dark, deserted areas. If they have to go to these areas, they should not go alone, always be alert when being followed, and not use their phones.

In case of necessity, people need to park their cars close to the roadside, facing the street, observing the surroundings when making phone calls. If wearing jewelry, they need to cover it up and not expose it. Handbags should be placed in the trunk of the car... and when robbed, they must shout, identify the characteristics of the subject, the type of vehicle, the license plate number and immediately go to the nearest police station to report (or call the hotline to report the crime).

The incident is being investigated by the police.
