Mr. Ho Chien, Editor-in-Chief of VTV8 Television Station, Chairman of the Resident Reporters Club in Quang Tri Province, spoke at the ceremony: The Club was established under Decision No. 39 of the Quang Tri Provincial Journalists Association, dated May 12, 2014, after 7 years of formation and development. On April 9, 2021, the Provincial Journalists Association issued a decision to complete the Executive Board of the Resident Reporters Club consisting of 6 people, with Journalist Ho Chien as Chairman. On April 10, 2021, the Resident Reporters Club in Quang Tri Province was officially launched. To date, the Club has attracted more than 30 resident reporters from central press agencies to participate. Among them, in addition to resident reporters stationed in Quang Tri province, there are also a number of reporters living in Thua Thien Hue and Quang Binh, but assigned by the agency to be in charge of Quang Tri province to participate.

The purpose of the Club is to draw valuable lessons from the experience of working with the homeland of Quang Tri of the resident reporters in the area, thereby proposing solutions to promote and further strengthen the strength of the inevitable relationship between the press and the provincial government as well as departments, districts, towns and cities in Quang Tri province. Through that, affirming the role of resident reporters in providing, exchanging and orienting socio-economic information, helping Quang Tri province have more sources of information for better orientation.

At the seminars, a number of presentations by press reporters helped Quang Tri province grasp more of the thoughts of central journalists stationed in the area about local socio-economic development; fighting against negativity and being constructive in the locality; fighting against bad and toxic news, refuting distorted information and opinions that affect the local situation... In addition, a number of statements by departments and branches will clarify the role of the central press team stationed in the area in recent times.
Resident reporter club visits Kaluem coal mine (Sekong province, Laos).
In particular, in April 2024, with the help of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the Club organized a working delegation to visit and study in Laos and Thailand. This is a rare opportunity for reporters to visit Kaluem Coal Mine (Sekong Province), the largest open-pit coal mine in Laos, and learn more about some cultural features of Laos and Thailand.
Every year, the Resident Journalists Club visits veteran journalists on the occasion of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, June 21.
Currently, the Quang Tri Provincial Resident Reporters Club has become a trusted address for press colleagues to exchange and learn journalism experiences; visit and interact with other units and accompany in many social charity activities.
Many activities have been organized and maintained by the Club annually such as: visiting and giving gifts to veteran journalists in the Senior Journalists Club; visiting and exchanging with many units such as Quang Tri Wind Power Association, Border Guard, Quang Tri Customs, Management Board of Economic Zones of the province, Hai Lang, Gio Linh, Huong Hoa, Cam Lo, Dakrong districts,...
Every year, the Quang Tri Provincial Resident Reporters Club has also cooperated with the Provincial Journalists Association, the Quang Tri Thien Duyen Charity Association, and the Hoanh Son Group to give gifts to disadvantaged students at the Spring Newspaper Festival, and coordinate with a number of businesses to organize Tet care for the poor and disadvantaged during Tet and the beginning of the school year.
On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of its establishment, Mr. Vo Van Hung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province, also presented a certificate of merit to the Resident Reporters Club.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Tri province, highly appreciated the formation and development of the Resident Reporters Club. He hoped that this would be a common home for resident reporters to exchange their careers as well as help each other in life, exchange experiences, understand each other and have more information channels to do better propaganda work in the locality.
At the same time, Mr. Quang also emphasized the economic and social development situation and the next development orientations of Quang Tri province. He hoped that resident reporters would accompany the province to build Quang Tri province to develop strongly in the future.
