According to VNA, Dennis Francis highly appreciated Vietnam's role as an active and responsible member, which has continuously made significant and important contributions to the UN. For example, in the field of international peacekeeping , Vietnam has sent peacekeeping personnel to many hotspots around the world, including South Sudan. Vietnam has also made many contributions as a member of the UN Human Rights Council for the 2023-2026 term, a member of the International Law Commission for the 2023-2027 term, and a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council... These successes demonstrate Vietnam's strong commitment to the fundamental principles and values in the UN Charter, international law, and multilateralism in general. President of the 78th Session of the UN General Assembly Dennis Francis affirmed: The participation of General Secretary and President To Lam in this year's UN General Assembly High-Level Week is a highly significant event, demonstrating the highest level of political commitment at a crucial time when the international community is determined to promote multilateralism to address a range of current global challenges.
According to Dennis Francis, "bamboo diplomacy " is a flexible yet firm, dynamic, and open diplomatic approach that clearly demonstrates Vietnam's desire to befriend all nations. He was truly impressed with this diplomatic approach, which contributes to promoting and strengthening multilateralism, demonstrating its rationality and effectiveness in the context of a globalized world. He noted that many countries in the Southern Hemisphere are currently lagging behind in their efforts to achieve sustainable development goals. He believes that Vietnam, with its "bamboo diplomacy" approach, has many practical experiences it can share with countries in the Southern Hemisphere, both in terms of development and peacekeeping.
Strengthening and enhancing UN-Vietnam relations.
President of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly Dennis Francis stated: Following the upcoming visit of General Secretary and President To Lam, the relationship between the UN and Vietnam will continue to be strengthened and enhanced. The focus of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly will be on promoting human dignity and rights, enhancing values in health and education, consolidating peace, and sustainable development. These are also strong commitments of Vietnam.
According to Dennis Francis, the visit of General Secretary and President To Lam to the UN and his participation in the Summit on the Future demonstrates Vietnam's commitment at the highest level and will certainly contribute to elevating relations between Vietnam and the UN to a new level. The Summit on the Future is also a special event, a conference for the future of the world, an opportunity for international leaders to promote solidarity and multilateralism to realize the goals of the UN. The President of the 78th Session of the UN General Assembly believes that the visit of the Vietnamese leader is an opportunity for Vietnam to strongly reaffirm its commitments.
