The official visit to Vietnam of Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia Hun Manet was a great success.

NDO - Major Cambodian media agencies, such as the Cambodia News Agency (AKP), Fresh News, Khmer Times, Phnom Penh Post and a number of radio and television stations, all highlighted the official visit to Vietnam by Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Bovor Thipadei Hun Manet.

Fresh News e-newspaper published a press release from the Office of the Council of Ministers on the evening of December 12, affirming that the official visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam by Samdech Moha Bovor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has achieved great results in the fields of politics, diplomacy, economy, investment and trade. Reviewing the outstanding activities during the official visit to Vietnam by Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet at the invitation of Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, the newspapers clearly stated that Vietnam is the second country and the first ASEAN member country that Prime Minister Hun Manet has officially visited since taking office.

The visit to Vietnam aims to consolidate and enhance the relationship and cooperation between the two countries, which established diplomatic relations 56 years ago. The visit also aims to promote trade and investment activities, in the context that bilateral trade turnover has now reached 11 billion USD.

Prime Minister Hun Manet's visit lasted only two days (December 11-12), but included many events to meet with senior leaders, a number of large Vietnamese enterprises, and programs related to promoting trade and investment. During the visit, the Cambodian Prime Minister held talks with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; paid courtesy calls to General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong, President Vo Van Thuong, and National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue.

During the meetings, Prime Minister Hun Manet and Vietnamese leaders focused on discussing the enhancement of bilateral friendship and cooperation in the fields of diplomacy, politics and economics. Prime Minister Hun Manet affirmed that the policy of the Royal Government of Cambodia is to maintain and preserve good relations with Vietnam, without change. During the meetings, Vietnamese leaders expressed their joy and congratulated Prime Minister Hun Manet on being elected Vice President of the Cambodian People's Party, along with the great and important achievements that Cambodia has achieved in recent times.

During his visit to Vietnam, Prime Minister Hun Manet met with leaders of six major Vietnamese enterprises, including the Military Telecommunications Group, VietJet, Vietnam Rubber Industry Group, BIDV, Thaco and Vingroup. Prime Minister Hun Manet and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the Vietnam-Cambodia Trade and Investment Promotion Forum, an event aimed at expanding bilateral trade and investment. The two leaders also had an exchange with students of the Foreign Trade University. The two Prime Ministers witnessed the signing of three cooperation documents, including: a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of science, technology and innovation between the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam and the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation of Cambodia; a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry and the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce; and a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam and the Institute of Diplomacy and International Relations of Cambodia.

Another agreement signed was the opening of a direct flight from Hanoi (Vietnam) to Siem Reap (Cambodia). This is an important agreement, contributing to promoting the tourism industry by bringing tourists to the cultural tourism city of Cambodia. According to the Cambodian newspaper, the official visit to Vietnam by Prime Minister Hun Manet was a great success, contributing to consolidating and nurturing the increasingly developing friendship for the benefit of the people of the two countries, in the region and internationally.
