"Following the direction of the General Department of Hydrometeorology, the National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting recommends that all stations in the North and North Central regions monitor the temperature at 6:00 a.m. to inform the media.
We also post the temperature measurements at this time on the center's website as well as the news page of the General Department of Hydrometeorology. Through that, parents can refer to the temperature measurements at this time to decide whether to send their children to school or not," Mr. Huong shared.
The Head of the Weather Forecast Department, Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, warned that severe cold will affect people, crops and livestock.
People need to pay attention to their health, on very cold days, absolutely do not use honeycomb coal for heating because it can cause suffocation and endanger life. In livestock areas, people should cover barns and have a plan to keep livestock, poultry as well as crops warm.
In addition to causing severe cold, strong cold air also causes strong winds and big waves at sea, affecting fishermen's aquaculture as well as fishing.
